这张专辑是美国三大发烧唱片品牌之一的“Chesky”公司1999年发行的发烧天碟。意大利语“Bravo”译为“拍案惊奇”，赫然印在封套上，煞是抢眼！翻开封套，内页上17张彩色封套的封面、片号立即映入眼帘。这便是此张“天碟”收录的17段音乐的“出处”，自然也都是Chesky出手不凡的杰作。

专辑录音按内容，可分为四个部分。一是“发烧古典录音”，选有交响性很强的曲目，如歌剧《卡门》的开场曲、瓦格纳《女武神》片段，以及约翰·施特劳斯的《闲聊波尔卡》，还有莫扎特的合唱（选自耶稣受难康塔塔葬礼曲）、在现代音乐中影响极大的沃恩·威廉斯的作品选《交替圣歌》等。演绎上风格独特，如第一首《卡门》选段，从作曲到乐团、指挥均是清一色“法国藉”，录音的靓丽那毫不夸张地说是“拍案惊奇”。

第二、第三、第四部分分别为“双通道环绕声录音”、“当代流行人声”和“爵士/世界音乐”，也是选曲精良，演录惊人。无论用于欣赏测试都绝不会让人失望。
