赖英里是一位曾经轰动一时、纵横台湾音乐界多年的长笛演奏家，长笛这种器乐的特点，总带有一种淡淡的忧郁在里面，正是这淡淡的忧伤往往能使人随笛音而思绪飘远，过往之事浮现眼前，触动自己心中那最敏感的神经，黯然惆怅。优美绝顶的长笛，带给人太多的感动，也只在此时才能给人以片刻的宁静。
她的第五张是1994年10月推出的《柔情似水》
(Tender Like Water)长笛专辑，远赴美国好萊坞录音并在洛杉机进行MTV的拍摄工作，还邀请阿根廷籍作曲家乔治卡兰德瑞里(Jorge Calandrelli)为这张专辑写了主打曲“柔情似水”(Tender Like Water)。张曲风除了有活泼的热帶丛林音乐、流行乐，还有一首电影《乱世佳人》的配乐“随风而逝”，以及改编了孟德尔颂“e小調小提琴协奏曲”，这首可和贝多芬或布拉姆斯名曲相提并论的浪漫乐派长笛版，在当時可谓是最华丽的小提琴代表作。最后一首“巴哈新诠”取材於巴哈平均律钢琴曲集第一卷第八曲(Praeludium VIII)，这不只是最高級的音乐教学作品，同時也是巴哈全作品里属于遁展曲艺术的画时代之作
