“这是美国著名发烧录音品牌“RR”在1992年发行的一张HDCD效果示范碟，这家成立于1976年的唱片公司从诞生之日起就以高保真的声音还原效果为诉求，并在CD唱片音质改良方面做出了很大的努力，而1992年他们所推出的“HDCD数码录音技术”无疑是RR最杰出的成就之一。HDCD的全称“High Definition Compatible Digital”直译为“高清晰度CD”，它以传统CD唱片为载体，提高了录音回放的清晰度、层次感、空间感以及动态、定位等诸多方面，迅速被业界所认可。而在拥有HDCD解码芯片的唱机上，这些提升则更为明显！如今HDCD已经通过技术授权而被业界诸多唱片公司所广泛采用。
经过十多年的发展，HDCD已经成为一种较为成熟并常用的CD音质提升手段，但普及后的应用中却不免有泛滥的趋势，有些粗制滥造的HDCD唱片根本无法发挥HDCD的技术优势。而RR作为这项技术的发明者则具有相当的权威性，它们所出品的HDCD在声音效果上是毋庸置疑的。为您介绍的这张《HDCD Sampler》在1992年推出，让人们初次领略了HDCD技术所展现出的音质提升。六轨音乐节目包括大型管乐、乐队与合唱以及钢琴独奏和爵士器乐四重奏，每一轨的声音表现都能令人感到震撼。芬尼尔指挥达拉斯管乐团演奏的两首管弦乐作品充满着色彩和力量、音场异常宽阔、动态范围惊人；而Dick Hyman演绎的爵士钢琴以及最后一轨的器乐四重奏，则将每一件独奏乐器的音色还原的淋漓尽致！”
