玛吉阿米藏族民间歌舞艺术团一直致力于传承和发展藏族民间音乐、民间歌舞艺术，首张唱片收录多首“仓央嘉措之歌”。仓央嘉措是西藏历史上第六世达赖喇嘛，同时又是一位才华横溢的诗人，他的一生极富传奇色彩。仓央嘉措的诗歌形似情诗，实则道歌、禅诗。情诗中透出禅心，禅诗中又见情意。从来没有任何人能够像他那样，将情感与佛法完美地熔于一炉。仓央嘉措的诗歌不朽，超越了时空、地域、民族、语言，为全人类所共享。玛吉阿米藏族民间歌舞艺术团/玛吉阿米乐队创造性地结合了藏族民间传统音乐与世界音乐元素，为新生代藏族音乐的发展进行了极有意义的探索与实践。艺术团/乐队近年来从各藏区搜集整理和改编了一批以纯正藏语演唱的原汁原味的“仓央嘉措之歌”，其中最经典的几首已收录于本张唱片之中。“我们愿做民族瑰宝的掘藏者和传承者”——是促成这张唱片诞生的最大源动力。纯正藏语演绎一篇篇打动人心的千古绝唱！
