这张专辑是传奇歌手约翰尼·卡什离世十年后，2014年由儿子代为发行的第四张专辑，距离当年录制的时间已经超过30年。专辑收录了12首歌曲，包括约翰尼·卡什与妻子的二重唱，还有与歌手Wayne Jennings合作的曲目。

专辑是约翰尼·卡什与制作大师比利·薛瑞尔在1981至1984年间录制的，但因为约翰尼·卡什的唱片在1980年代销量不佳而未能发行，随后他也在1986年被哥伦比亚唱片解约。2014年3月约翰尼·卡什的儿子决定发行这张他们也从没听过、未被发行的专辑。他的妻子琼·卡特·卡什（June Carter Cash）一直保留着这张磁带，她说：“他们从来没有丢掉任何东西，他们把所有东西都保存在生活中。”

约翰尼·卡什（Johnny Cash，1932年2月26日-2003年9月12日），原名J.R.Cash，美国乡村音乐创作歌手，多次格莱美奖获得者。他是美国另一位同为著名乡村音乐作者和歌手的琼·卡特·卡什的丈夫。

约翰尼·卡什是影响美国近代乡村、流行、摇滚与民谣界最重要的创作歌手之一，他以浑厚而深沉的男中音，简约有力的吉他，创造了属于他自己的独特声音，他的音乐横跨了乡村音乐和摇滚乐，在他一生超过四百首的创作歌曲当中，有一百首以上的歌曲进入过乡村榜前四十名，他是许多不同阶层的美国民众的代言人，他有着美国人独特的视角，他的作品所触及的范围从知识份子的社会观察、蓝领阶级的悲苦生活、恋爱中的百味杂陈、市井小民的真实心声甚至罪犯的心理描摹....等等都有，可说是代表全美国人的良心之声。
