《东方大峡谷》的音乐，由中国吹管乐艺术集大成者——杜聪大师领衔演奏。在本碟中，我们能听到杜聪用弯箫、弓笛、印度横笛、缅甸竖笛、鹰骨笛、日本尺八、木埙、陶埙、排箫等十余种人们熟悉或不熟悉的东方吹管乐器，以精湛绝伦的高超技艺奏出的神奇瑰丽音响。

同时，《东方大峡谷》还集中了许多精彩的民间音乐原声素材。它们都是专辑作曲兼制作人黄荟在峡谷内的各处实地采录到的：有傈僳人独有的五声部和音、有八旬民歌手沧桑入味的古谣、还有峡谷内天主教堂混声四部赞美诗合唱......这些音响经过采样、变形、截断，成为独具特征的音乐元素，与吹管乐相得益彰，构成了本碟音乐大厦的两大支柱。著名录音师张小安的耗费心神、激情投入的亲自操刀，也为音乐的呈现提供了让人放心的“保驾护航”！
