2021年10月，89岁高龄的约翰·威廉姆斯首次指挥柏林爱乐乐团，演出了自己的作品音乐会。专辑收录了许多约翰·威廉姆斯的经典配乐，其中的高光之作当属《哈利波特与魔法石》中的《Nimbus 2000》，这首灵动轻快的佳作由柏林爱乐乐团的管乐声部演奏；《夺宝奇兵之圣战奇兵》中的《Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra》乱中有序，令人忍俊不禁；此外还有感人至深的《Elegy for Cello and Orchestra》，这首乐曲是约翰·威廉姆斯为纪念一位小提琴家两名不幸夭折的孩子而创作，由乐团首席大提琴Bruno Delepelaire深情演绎。

约翰·威廉姆斯（John Williams，1932年2月8日-）钢琴家、指挥家、电影配乐家，美国历史上名气最大、获奖最多、商业上最为成功的作曲家之一。约翰·威廉姆斯具有与生俱来的能力，没有他，电影配乐的历史将会不一样，他所谱写出的电影配乐在电影结束后很长一段时间内依旧陪伴着无数观众。2021年10月，柏林爱乐乐团与柏林的观众迎来了这位好莱坞传奇人物带领的电影魔术之夜。这是约翰·威廉姆斯首次指挥柏林爱乐乐团，也是他继2020年1月指挥维也纳爱乐乐团之后，第二次在欧洲举办音乐会。

在这场音乐会中，约翰·威廉姆斯选择了他最喜爱的一些电影配乐，还有他所作的其他代表性作品，这些音乐能追溯到大师在电影音乐史上的非凡印记。

约翰·威廉姆斯为1984年洛杉矶奥运会创作的宏大号角曲《奥林匹克号角和主题》作为开场曲。这是一首充满活力且富有魅力的作品，通过交响乐展现出恢宏磅礴的气势和力量，柏林爱乐乐团舞台上的好莱坞交响乐声从第一个音符就已经让观众兴奋不已。
