Rechtman是著名以色列钢琴家，他的来头同样不小，曾先后到过世界各地的乐团演出，也是一位出色的作曲家，这张专辑收录了他改编的三首作品，都是极美妙的动听乐章。示范曲目首推《卡门幻想曲》与《流浪者之歌》，将管弦乐部分改编作钢琴弹奏，令小提琴的演奏更见技巧艰深，更觉有娱乐性。
拉拉圣蔷（Lara
St.John）是一位天赋异禀、琴艺精湛的年轻小提琴家，她擅长诠释巴赫的作品，曾录制过巴赫的小提琴独奏曲和协奏曲。拉拉圣蔷的面容姣好、身材窈窕、作风大胆另类，吸引了世界各国乐迷们的目光。她演奏使用的是1779年的“莎拉布”瓜奈里名琴。
拉拉圣蔷录制这张吉普赛音乐专辑，是因为她曾经在莫斯科住过一年，交上一位吉普赛好友，经常到吉普赛人社区，体会那种只求欢乐今朝，不问明日身何在的流浪精神。这和巴赫本人以及巴赫的音乐是强烈的对比，巴赫终生没有离开过祖国，他的音乐又是严谨而永恒，拉拉圣蔷有自信能够在这两个极端都能表现出她的感情与技巧。
美国发烧录音公司Cisco
Music采用SACD格式重新发行专辑，音效何止更上一层楼，无论在小提琴或钢琴的音色，以至整个音场的表现力都有示范级的重播。除了录音极之突出外，因为所演奏的曲目容易令人动容，且当中更有多首耳熟能详的乐章，令到古典乐迷及发烧友非常受落，专辑成为小提琴录音的试音碟。拉拉圣蔷那全面的演奏技巧，在优秀的录音中得到透彻的再生，她的琴音甜美但不庸俗、音控明艳却不流于刻板，指触与拉奏皆细致利落。
