这张专辑是菲斯图拉里指挥阿姆斯特丹皇家音乐厅管弦乐团，演奏柴科夫斯基的芭蕾舞剧《天鹅湖》选段。这个1961年的录音非常有名，芭蕾舞剧指挥之神阿纳托尔·菲斯图拉里与阿姆斯特丹皇家音乐厅管弦乐团相遇碰撞出夺目的火花，由Decca公司的天碟录音师韦尔金森亲自录制，造就了这张演录俱佳的天碟。
菲斯图拉里演绎的声音有丰盈醇厚的色彩、如脉搏跳动般鲜活的感觉，优美且高雅的气质，透过韦尔金森极为自然、真实的录音，使乐迷能够感受到菲斯图拉里天才的诠释。
日本Hi-end唱片厂牌Esoteric重新发行Decca母带系列，以绝不妥协的态度，利用原始母带重新制作并压成SACD发行，使我们能够以接近母带的高音质聆听这些早已绝版的珍贵录音。

四幕芭蕾舞剧《天鹅湖》作品20，作于1876年。这是柴科夫斯基所作的第一部舞剧，取材于民间传说，剧情为：公主奥杰塔在天鹅湖畔被恶魔变成了白天鹅。王子齐格费里德游天鹅湖，深深爱恋奥杰塔。王子挑选新娘之夜，恶魔让他的女儿黑天鹅伪装成奥杰塔以欺骗王子。王子差一点受骗，最终及时发现，奋击恶魔，扑杀之。白天鹅恢复公主原形，与王子结合，以美满结局。
