原版英文绘本分享 The fox went out on a chilly night

 

A favorite folk song about a clever fox who outsmarts a farmer provides the text for Peter Spier's splendid and humorous illustrations of a New England autumn night in a Caldecott Honor Book. Includes music for voice, guitar, piano, and all seven verses of the song.

狐狸爸爸在寒冷的夜里到小镇上出行，他祈祷月亮能照亮夜路。
一路上深秋抑或初冬的景色非常美妙，让人心旷神怡。
可是狐狸爸爸一心想的都是怎么咬住鹅的脖子，怎么弄死鸭子之类的事情，真是和美景很不相称呢。
经过一番闹心的搏杀，狐狸爸爸给九只小狐狸和狐狸妈妈带回了美美的大餐。小狐狸们误以为到镇上去一定是一件非常的好的事。美餐之后，全家唱起了狐狸之歌

 

The Fox Went Out On a Chilly Night《寒夜里出行的狐狸》荣获1961年凯迪克银奖。这本书从首次出版到大约半个世纪后的2013年，一直是黑白线条的作品。起初这样做，只是为了降低印刷成本。

2013年，它的作者Peter Spier已经是86岁高龄，在出版社的邀请下，他亲自执笔，把书改成了彩绘版。此时他已经不是那个30多岁荣获凯迪克奖的英姿勃发的中年人。提到一生创作的百余本图书，他感慨万千。在这些绘本中，他*喜欢的就是The Fox Went Out On a Chilly Night《寒夜里出行的狐狸》。书的末尾还有那首押韵的狐狸之歌。

 

认识作者

Peter Spier一生创作了100多本儿童书，其中Noah’s Ark《诺亚方舟》荣获凯迪克金奖，The Fox Went Out On a Chilly Night《寒夜里出行的狐狸》荣获凯迪克银奖

 

我下面的图片完全无法表现这本书精美的图画,细致的工笔加上丰富的颜色,风格颇像中国画,简直是一场视觉盛宴!　难怪猪仔第一次看这个绘本，足足翻了１０多分钟，痴痴地翻了一遍又一遍，因为他从没见过这么精致的图案，图画里面蕴藏的细节足以他细细揣摩！我第一次看到该绘本时也被深深地震撼了,实在美翻了!
