盐田，是霞浦海岸线的最西端，西于福安溪尾接壤，

是人称“海上吉普赛”的连家船民的集居地，连家船民勤劳、善良、朴实、厚道。

距霞浦县城13.5公里，主要拍摄“连家船民”、挂蛎、和红树林等。盐田乡是福建省最大的连家船民集中区，现有连家船民近万人。连家船民是我省历史上作为一个单独民族,古称疍户或疍民，又被称为“连家船民”、“水上居民”，为汉族的一个民系。旧时人们辱称疍民为：“船民”、“船人”，“曲蹄”（“屈蹄”）。疍民长年漂泊江海内河，“以舟楫为宅”，流动性大，因而人们又常常把他们比为“水上吉普赛人”； 昔日的“疍民”虽然淡出了人们的视野，屈辱的“曲蹄”名号早已不再，但也有少数渔民对过去传统的丝丝感怀与眷念，依旧延续着祖上的活计，采用缣网捕鱼外，还经营起了海产养殖业，成为全新的“水上居民”。这里真真实实地展出了中国渔民的渔家风情，一点纯朴、一丝勤俭，还有一份智慧和水上吉普赛人淳朴的眼神，都是摄影人不可多得的好素材。
