My neighbor is a paramedic(辅助人员). He and his wife are some of the 　1　people I have ever met. A few years back we 　2　 this sort of “favour war” where one of us would do something for the other, such as shovelling(铲雪)their driveway or helping them mend the fence, and 　3　 time the other would try to top it with another 　4　.Yesterday morning there was maybe two or three feet of snow on the ground and I　5　 he shoveled my driveway for me last snowfall. So I searched out my shovel and 　6　 both our sidewalks and driveways because it was my 　7　 to do a favour back. It took a while but I 　8　 and got into my car for work. What I didn’t realize was that he had to 　9　 that day too. 

This morning I got a 　10　 on my door. It was my neighbor. He immediately shook my hand and 　11　 me that because I shoveled his driveway for him, he 　12　 to get to work earlier.  As soon as he started his shift,  a 　13　 came through that a young boy was in a

medical　14　.  Luckily his partner and he were only about 2 minutes away,  but the next

　15　 ambulance was 10 minutes away. This kid did not have 10 minutes; he　16　had 2 minutes. Because my neighbor got to work　17　, a young boy got to live his life.
