I like my hair

教学目标：

1. 知识目标：学生通过看图能猜出名词“spikes, braids, freckles, curly”及动词“swing，match”的含义。通过阅读绘本理解动词短语“stay out of, hang upside down”在句子中的意思。能够用运用句型I have...及I like it to...表达自己对于头发的愿望。

2. 过程方法目标：通过观察图片内容，学会分析猜测。培养学生在课堂中通过小组合作运用所学句型表达自己对于发型的喜好。

3. 情感目标：培养学生学会欣赏美的品质。

教学重点难点：

通过观察图片内容学会猜测词意，并运用句型 “ I like to...”表达自己喜欢的发型。

教学过程：

Step1.  Warming up ＆Brainstorming

A. Warming up

T: Hello, everyone! Are you happy today? I feel happy too. Do you want to play a game? Ok, let’s play a guessing game. Look at this picture, guess what it is. If you need some help, I can give you some hints.

S: Great!

S: Is it some thread? Is it some grass?

T: Ok, I will give you some hints. They can be long or be short. Sometimes it can be straight or be curly. It also can be many colors. It is parts of our body. Yes, it’s hair! Now, let’s enjoy a song, if you like you can sing with it.

T: Ok, very good. Do you like your hair? Yes, I like my hair too. Today, We will learn a new lesson ‘ I like my hair’.

设计意图：截取发型的一部分，通过教师的提示让学生猜测本课的主题“hair”，调动学生对于学习本课的兴趣。

B. Brainstorming

First, let’s enjoy a video. If you can sing, please sing with it.

T: Please tell us, what are they doing?

S: They are wearing hair styles.

T: Hair is fun. It can be many colours. What colour is your hair?  Do you like your hair? Is it long or short? What hair styles do you like best? Now I give you two minutes to discuss in groups.

A. Free walk

S1: I have black hair. I have long hair. I like short hair.

S2: I have short hair. I like long hair.

S3: I have straight hair. I like curly hair.

( Ask the students to discuss what they have learned about hair, for example, gray, white, curly, straight, long, short...)

T: Today, I have some friends here. Please look at the pictures.What hairstyle do you like? And why?

S1: I like picture1. He has yellow hair. Maybe he is happy with his hair.

T: Great! Can you see something on his face?(用body language)

S: May I speak Chinese? 雀斑。

T: Freckles. He has freckles.(板书)

S2: I like picture3. He has short red hair. I like his hair style.

T: He has spikes. (板书)Look at picture7. Do you like this hair style?

S3: I like picture7. She is very beautiful.

T: Why?

S3: 辫子。

T: She has many braids.（板书）

设计意图：通过观看Five Little Babies wear the Hair Style 来导入话题使学生们展开有关头发颜色，长短，形状的讨论，用他们学过的旧知来引入新知识,学习freckles, braids, spikes等新的词汇。

Step2.  Key Sentences Practice

T: I have long straight hair. I have a braid. I like it to swing(板书) when I walk on the street. I like to paint it brown. So what do you like best about your hair?

S1: I like to paint it yellow, because I think it is fashion.

S2: I like it to swing when I play at school.

S3: I like it to cut. I like short hair.

S3: I like to put flowers on my hair.

Step3. The whole-text reading

T: Terrific! We can wear our hair in different ways. Now, please open the book and read the pictures, please fill in the blanks in pairs.

设计意图：学生能熟练运用句型后，教师通过让学生自主阅读展开全文阅读，就能较快的理解和把握文章的主要内容，真正做到读懂阅读材料。让学生通过观察图片信息，分析短语‘ hang upside down’和‘stay out of’ 的意思。

Step 4. Extended Exercise

(Find five students to be hairdressers to design hairstyle for the customers. The students use ‘I like to … ’the hairdressers will draw the pictures for the customers.)

T: OK, All of you have done a good job! What do you like best about your hair? Now you are at hairdressers’. I have so many hair styles for you to choose.

T: I need a hairdresser. If customs ask for some hair style, he can draw it on the blackboard.

T: Who wants to be my first customs?

S: Me!

T: Welcome to May’s Hair Salon. What do you like best about your hair?

S: I want a handsome hairstyle. My hair is a little long, I like it to cut. I like short hair. I want to have spikes. I like to paint it red.

(Then a hairdresser come to the platform to design hair styles for the customer, draw a picture quickly on the blackboard)

设计意图：创设去理发店的真实情境，教师展示各式发型的图片并提供更多的相关的英语表达等活动，培养孩子们在真实的情景中使用运用I like to 重点句型来表达自己对于发型的喜好。培养学生欣赏美的美好品格。
