Kelly was allergic to the sun.The doctor said it wasincurable.可知凯莉对阳光过敏,根据第四段for he could tell her stories about birds and squirrels可知,她想出去看看动物。

根据第一段的Roma Pass Kit (套装) enables both touristsand interested local residents the opportunity to benefit from variousdiscounts and services that make it easier and cheaper to enjoy the sights ofRome.
Almost all the museums normally are closed on December 25 ,January l and May l too.
C
When you go to the doctor, you like to come away with aprescription. It makes you feel better to know you willget some medicine. But the doctor knows that medicine is notalways needed.Sometimes all a sick person needs is somereassurance that all will be well.In such casesthe doctor may prescribe a placebo.
A placebo is a sugar pill,a harmless shot, orail empty capsule.Even though they have no medicine in them, these things seem to make people well. The patientthinks it is medicine and begins to get better. How does thishappen?
The study of the placebo opens up new knowledge about the waythe human body can heal itself. It is as ifthere was a doctor in each of us.The doctor willheal the body for us if we let it.But it is notyet known just how the placebo works to heal the body.Somepeople say it works because the human mind fools itself.Thesepeople say that if the mind is fooled into thinking it got medicine, thenit will act as if it did,and the bodywill feel better.
Placebos do not always work. The success ofthis treatment seems to rest a lot with the relationship between the patientand the doctor. If the patient has a lot of trust in thedoctor and if the doctor really wants to help the patient, thenthe placebo is more likely to work.So in a way, thedoctor is the most powerful placebo of all.
Aplacebo can also have bad
effects. If patientsexpect a bad reaction to
medicine, then they willalso show a bad reaction to the
placebo. This would seemto show that a lot of how you
react to medicine is in your mind rather than inyour
body. Some doctors still think that if theplacebo can
have bad effects it should never be used.Theythink there is still not enough known
about
Thestrange power of the placebo does seem to suggest that the human mind is strongerthan we think it is.There are people who say you can heal yourbody by using your mind. And theinteresting thing is that even people who swear this is not possible have beenhealed by a placebo.
28.What does theunderlined word “it” in Paragraph 5 refer to?
29.What do we knowabout placebo according to the passage?
A.It contains some sort of medicine.
30.Why is thedoctor sometimes the most powerful placebo?
31.What is the besttitle for the text?
A.Placebo:Workon Your

C.Placebo:TheBest

Thetrick to working out where musical preferences come from was to find and testpeople who hadn’t had much contact with Western music.McDermottand his team travelled by aeroplane, car and canoe toreach the remote villages of the Tsimane’ people, who are largelyisolated from Western culture.
Intheir experiments,McDermott and his colleagues investigatedresponses to Western music by playing combinations of notes to three groups ofpeople:the Tsimane’ and two other groups ofBolivians that had experienced increasing levels of exposure to Western music.Theresearchers recorded whether each group regarded the notes as pleasant orunpleasant.
TheTsimane’ are just as good at making acoustic(声响的)distinctionsas the groups with more experience of other types of music, thescientists find. Most people prefer consonant tones, butthe Tsimane’ have no preference between them.“This prettyconvincingly rules out that the preferences are things we’re born with,’’ McDermottargues.

Iwanted to feel the fear and do it anyway. 故选A。
A.warned警告,B.reminded

此处to do表示目的。故填topromote。
3.
