Teaching Objectives
1.Knowledge Objectives:
a) To understand the sentence patterns: —Where is …? —It is on/in/under ….. 
b) To master the sentence patterns: —Where is …? —It is on/in/under ….
2. Ability Objectives:
After this unit, the students are able to express the location of things by using these words: chair, desk, book/dog/bread/milk/pencil/pen and patterns: —Where is my…? —It is on/in/under…. 
3. Moral Objectives:
a) Let the students enjoy the fun in learning.
b) To encourage the students to help and learn from each other while working together.
c) Help your friends if they are in trouble.

Key Points

Teaching Procedures 
Step1 Lead-in (3 minutes)
Method: Show a picture about Zhangpeng.
Description: To show a picture about Zhangpeng. Ask the students to memorize and play the performance Zhangpeng showed last time.
Example: Show a picture about Zhangpeng. 
 
Last class Zhangpeng and his friends show a performance. Let review it. Teacher will ask a student to be a leader in the class to show it together. Review what they have learned last class: Put your foot under your chair. Put your hand on your chair. Put your arm in your desk. Put your hand under your desk.
Step 2 Presentation  (5minutes)
Method: Look, listen and read.
Description: Show a picture about “let’s talk”. Let the students to guess what happened to Zhang Peng. Listen to the recording and then complete the blanks. Finally, ask some students to role-play.
Example: “Look at the ppt, what happened to Zhang Peng ? You should read by yourself. Two minutes for you. After two minutes, listen to a recording and then fill in the blanks.” 
  
Step3 Practice
Method: Do three practices with a story.
Description: (1 minute) Here is a situation: Zhangpeng has a good friend-monkey king. Monkey king comes across difficulties. The difficulties are the practices.
Example: Zhangpeng has a good friend-monkey king and he wants to introduce him to the students. (Show a picture about monkey king.)
 
“Do you want to make friends with him?” Tan Sanzang and his disciples go to a foreign country. One day, a witch captured Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing and Tang Sanzang. Sun Wukong is so angry and has no ideas to defeat the witch to save his master and young brother for his lack of English. The switch says: “Here are 3 tasks. If you finish one, I’ll release one to you.” Ask the students to help monkey to finish the tasks.
3.1 Task 1 (5 minutes)
Method: Play the game.
Description: Choose one egg and then make a dialogue with your partner according to the pictures. 
Example: (One student choose the first egg) Now the student should make a dialogue with the patterns: —Where is … ?—It is on/in/under….with his/her parent.
 
3.2 Task 2 Memory game.记忆大比拼。(8 minutes)
Method: Play the game.
Description: The teacher will show a picture to the students. Students should remember where the things are. They should finish it in 2 minutes.
 
Example: (After two minutes) Time’s up. Now check the answers. Where is the cat? 
Step 4 Production (10 minutes)
Task 3 Order arrangement
Method: Group work. 
Description: Firstly, I will show some pictures about the empty room, bread, ball, pig, dog, monkey. Students should listen to the recording and complete the blanks. Every group will get these pictures about the empty room, bread, ball, pig, dog, monkey. Finally, students should finish the “empty room” in group.
Example: Look at this picture. 
 
There are many things. A pig, a ball, a milk, a bread, a dog, a monkey and a empty room. Students should put the things in order. Here is a recording. Listen to the recording and then fill in the blanks. 
Hello, I am ZhuBajie. The witch make my room in a mess. Now I need you to help me to put all the things in order. Look! I have a dog. It has small eyes. Where is the dog? It’s ______ the chair. I have a pig in my room. Look! Uh-oh! Where is my pig? Look! It’s in _______. Wow! It’s a monkey. It’s ______ my bed. I love bread. It’s _____ the plant. I love milk. It’s under the_______. Uh-oh! It is my ball. It’s on the chair. 
Summary (1 minutes)
1. A: Where is _____?
B: It is on/in/under _______.
2. Silly me! 我真傻!,
3. Help your friends if they are in trouble.
Homework  (2 minutes)
1. Tell your parents how did you help Sun Wukong defeat the witch to save his brothers and master.
2. To describe where the things are in your room to your parents.
