     3. To understand the sentence pattern “which season do you like best?”  “I like ...best .” “Why?”  “Because...”

     1. To be able to use the new sentence pattern to have a dialogue.

     2. To be able to work in group?

     3. To be able to communicate with others.

Moral objective: 

     1. By this lesson, students learn to love all of the seasons of year.

Important points:

     1. The new words: why, because, summer vacation.

     2. To understand and speak the sentence pattern “which season do you like best?” “why?” “Because...”

     3. To know how to have a dialogue with others.

Difficult points:

     1. How to use the words “ Why, Because”

     2. How to use the sentence patterns “which season do you like best?” “why?” “Because...”in real situations.

Teaching procedure

 

Step 1: Greeting and revision 

1.1 Greeting 

T: Good morning,boys and girls

S: Good morning ,Miss Lin 

T: What’s the weather like today?

S: It’s warm 

1.2Revisoin

1.1 Game -guessing game

To review the phrases about let’s learn “go on a picnic, go swimming, pick apples, make a snowman” the teacher will let the students guess the phrases accord to the pictures.

1.2 Asking and answering 

Let the students to ask and answer by using the sentence patterns “which season do you like best?”-I like ...best . I often ...”

Step 2 presentation

The teacher shows the picture of let’s talk and ask :“ Do you like this picture? Which season is it now? ” Students answer:“ Yes, I do. Autumn.”

T: Yes, autumn is my favorite season, what’s your favorite season?

S1: Spring

S2: Winter

T: Who can ask in other way?  we can ask:“ which season do you like best? we can answer, I like ---best. ?”( Teach the new sentence pattern)

1.2 Ask and answer

The teacher use the new sentence patterns to ask students:“ which season do you like best?” and the students answer:“ I like autumn best?.

T: Why do you like autumn best? (Teach the new word “why”)

T: Because, I can pick apples.( Teach the new word)

T: Boys and girls , Amy and Miss White are talking about their favorite season ,now listen to the video and know more information about their favorite seasons.

Step 3 practice

1.1   The teacher will let the students to listen again and complete the dialogue of let’s talk.

1.2   Role-play 

Get the students to have a dialogue with their partners,and invite some of them to perform on the stage.

1.3   Asking and answering 

Let the students to try to use the phrases “go on a picnic, go swimming, pick apples, make a snowman” to have a dialogue like this: 

“Which season do you like best?”

“I like spring best .”

“Why?” 

“Because, I can go on a picnic with my family”

1.4   Do a survey 

Find a leader in each group and let the leaders to do a survey among his group by using the students patterns “which season do you like best?”  “I like ...best.”  “Why?”  “Because...” and have a report

1.5   Finish the practice of let’s try

Let the students to listen to the video twice and choose Zhang peng’s picture.

1.Follow the type of “let’s talk” and imitate the speaker’s pronunciation and intonation with your understanding and your feelings.

2.Use the sentence patterns “ “which season do you like best?”  “I like ...best.”  “why?” “Because...”to write a dialogue and perform it with your partner.
