As引导的定语从句解析

我们知道，定语从句是在复合句中用来修饰主句里面的名词或代词的从句，引导定语从句的一般有关系代词who、whom、whose、which、that 和关系副词when、where、why等。但我们在学习和高考试题中经常会碰到as 引导的定语从句。

如2001年全国高考卷：

_____ is known to everybody, the moon travels round the earth once every month.

A. It    B. As     C. That     D. What

本题考察as 引导的非限定性定语从句，“正如大家所知”，后面整个句子“月球每月绕地球转一圈” 指代as 做先行词，as 在句中作主语，所以选B。

下面就as 引导的定语从句加以归纳并解析：

1）  as 用作关系代词和关系副词引导限定性定语从句，并在从句中作宾语、表语和状语，构成the same…as, such…as 等结构。例如：

I like the same book as you do. （as 作宾语）

I shall do it in the same way as you did. （as 作状语）

I want to have such a dictionary as he has. （as 作宾语）

2）  as 引导非限定性定语从句，在句中作主语、表语或宾语，这个定语从句是说明整个句子，可以放在主句之前。例如：

As we all know, he studies very hard. (as 作宾语)

As is known to all, he is the best student in our class. （as 作主语）

常用的这种类似插入语的句式有as is said above, as is known to all, as it is 等。

要注意的是，关系代词whom, which, that 在限定性定语从句中作动词宾语和介词宾语，而该介词又位于句末时三个关系词经常省略，但as 一般不省略；which 和as 在定语从句中的区别：which 不能放在句首，而as 可以；as 在句中有“正如，就象”之意，而which 则没有。

例题解析：

1．  The Beatles, _____many of you are old enough to remember, came from Liverpool.

[答案解析]：本题考察as 引导的非限定性定语从句，as 指代的词the Beatles在从句中作宾语，其他词不能引导非限定性定语从句。本句意为“正如许多老人记得的那样，甲壳虫乐队是来自于利物浦。”所以选D。

2．_____ is often the case, we have worked out the production plan.

A. Which     B. When     C. What   D. As  (2004年江苏)

[答案解析]：此题中，as 引导非限定性定语从句，as 在句中作主语，“就象往常一样，我们制定了生产计划。” which 虽可以引导非限定性定语从句， 但不能放在首位，也没有“就象。。。，正如。。。”之意，所以选D。

3．He is such a lazy man _____ nobody wants to work with _____.

A. that; ×     B. as; him    C. whom; him    D. as; ×  （陕西模拟）

[答案解析]：本题考察as 引导的限定性定语从句，固定搭配为such…as, as 在句中作宾语，意为“他是如此懒惰的一个人，没有人愿意跟他共事。”as 作为引导词已经代替了him, him 应该省略，所以排除B选D。

4．Such things ____ you described are rare now.

A. as    B. who    C. that   D. which  （2004年名校联考）

[答案解析]：此题考察such…as 搭配的as 引导的定语从句，as 在从句中作宾语，意为“象你描述的这样的事情现在很少了。” 所以选A。

5．A war is so cruel that it always causes great losses, _____has happened in Iraq and other countries.

A. what     B. which     C. as   D. one  （2004江西联考）

[答案解析]：根据句意“战争那么残酷带来了很大的损失，正如在伊拉克和其他国家发生的一样。”该题考察as 引导的非限定性定语从句“正如。。。”， 泛指战争，而不是专指伊拉克战争，所以可以排除B项，选C。

6．Mrs. Black took the police back to _____place _____ she witnessed the robbery.

A. the same; as     B. the same; where   C. the same; that    D. as the same; as （东北三校联考）

[答案解析]：本题意为“布莱克夫人把警察带到了她目击抢劫的那个地方。”

句中先行词the same place 作了一个表示地点的状语，不能用as 引导, 只能用where 来引导。 所有应选B。

7．He must be from Africa, _____can be seen from his skin.

A. that    B. as     C. who    D. what   (2007浙江名校联考)

[答案解析]：本题考察as 引导的非限定性定语从句，as 指代前面的句子，在句中做主语，意为“他肯定来自于非洲，这从他的皮肤可以看出来。”其他的引导词不能引导非限定性定语从句， 故选B。

8．John got beaten in the game, _____had been expected.

A. who    B. what   C. that    D. as

[答案解析]：同上题一样，该题考察as 引导的非限定性定语从句，as 在这里有“正如”之意，本句意为“正如所预料的，John 在比赛中被打了。” 选D。
