SCAT考试内容包含两个部分：数学和词汇，均为选择题；每科55道题，其中有50道计分题和5道不计分的测试题，每科限时22分钟内完成。

通过verba词汇部分考试的可以参加英语和人文学科的课程，通过quantitative数学部分考试的可以参加数学和科学学科的课程。SCAT考试分为3个组别，2-3年级为初级组、4-5年级为中级组，6-8年级为高级组，不同组别的录取分数线不同。
