—they are cutting grass to feed the animals.

以上两个句子都是现在进行时态的句子；

现在进行时态：结构（be+ving），表示正在进行的动作或者存在的状态。标志词look, listen, now;

变否定时在be 动词之后加not,变一般疑问句时，将be动词提到句首；

Eg:  she is singing in her room now.(肯定句)

She isn’t singing in her room now.（否定句）

Is she singing in her room now?（一般疑问句）

Yes ,she is.\  No, she isn’t.(肯定和否定回答)

现在分词的变换规则如下：

（1）                直接加ing;  go---going

（2）                以不发音的e结尾的，去e加ing； like---liking

（3）                双写末尾的辅音字母，再加ing;

(swim, sit, cut, get, put, stop, begin, shop, run)

(4)                    以ie结尾的动词，将ie变为y,再加ing;

(lie---lying, 躺着 die---dying,死亡 tie---tying 系---领带，鞋带)

2.there be 句型：某地存在某物

(a):there is+不可数名词\名词单数

there are+可数名词的复数

(b):be 动词的选择是“就近一致原则”

be 动词与它最近的名词的单复数保持一致；

(c):变否定句在be 后加not,句中有some时，要变为any;

变一般疑问句时，需将be动词提到句首；
