4. be like / look like / feel like / would like

My younger sister and I aren’t much alike.

My younger sister and I don’t look much alike.

My younger sister and I aren’t very like.

My younger sister and I don’t look very like.

My younger sister and I aren’t like each other.

比较:

My younger sister and I aren’t very like.  like为形容词作表语

My younger sister and I aren’t much like each other. like 为介词

5. be keen on / be fond of / care for / go in for

  be keen on 非常喜爱、热衷于

He is keen on visiting China. / He is keen to visit China.

Mrs. Miller is very keen on art.

I’m keen on travelling.

In addition, a hero must be optimistic and diligent and be keen on his hard work.

  be fond of 喜欢、热爱

    Ants are fond of sweet food.

I am fond of this child.

More and more young people are fond of playing tennis nowadays.

My father is fond of collection stamps.

Girls are usually fond of singing and dancing.

 

 care for (口语)常常喜爱(还有关心、照顾”)

The girl cares much for new clothes.

They don’t care very greatly for arts.\

    More and more people care for the old and disabled. They think that helping others is happy.

Manatees are endangered, and we should care for them.

注:常常用在疑问句和否定句中。

Tom doesn’t care for meat.

Sorry I don’t care much for football. Who not ask if Tom would like to go. He’s a football fan.

Would you care for a drink?

英国人常用care for代替like

I don’t like milk. 我不喜欢喝牛奶。含有厌恶的意思

I don’t care for milk. 我不太喜欢喝牛奶。(喝也无妨)

go in for喜欢,爱好take strong interest in   

They go in for tennis and bowls. 他们爱打网球和保龄球。

I thought he only went in for music and tennis.我以为他只爱好音乐和网球。

Lots of men go in for fishing.很多人对钓鱼感兴趣。

Many newspapers go in for sensational happenings.许多报纸对轰动社会的事件很感兴趣。

Peter goes in for collecting antique weapons.彼得喜欢收集古兵器。
