一、教材分析
本课是第四单元第四课时内容,本单元围绕圣诞节这一西方节日展开,圣诞节在西方国家就如同春节对我们中国人一样重要,加拿大的孩子们十分喜欢过圣诞节,为了过圣诞节孩子们都会精心准备,本单元李明就带着我们一起参与了圣诞节的准备过程,装扮圣诞树,写圣诞贺卡,本课将重点学习准备圣诞节的又一环节----准备圣诞礼物。
二、教学目标
知识与技能
2. 能熟练地运用句型进行问答练习

1. 通过学习圣诞节的有关内容,使学生感受到中西方的文化差异,对西方的节日有一定的了解

Step ⅠWarming
up
1. Greetings
T: Hello, everyone!
Ss: Hello, Ms Meng!
T: What day is today?

2. Sing a song together “We wish you a Merry Christmas!”
【设计意图:通过课前齐唱英文歌曲,自然的将学生带入英语的学习氛围,同时渲染圣诞节日的气氛,为学习本文圣诞礼物做铺垫。】
Step Ⅱ Presentation
1.Learn “What do you want to buy? I want to buy____ for_____.”
T: When is Christmas?
Ss: It is Dec. 25th.
T: Yes. Today is…. Christmas is coming. What do people do on Christmas?
Ss: People don’t work. Children don’t go to school. People invite their family and friends to the house. People give gifts to their family and friends.
T: Yes. On Christmas, we give our family and friends gifts. Look! I have a gift. It is from my husband. Can you guess what is it?
【设计意图:教师与学生进行简单对话,询问有关圣诞节内容,通过自己收到礼物的形式,引出本课主题“Christmas Gifts”。】

【设计意图:每个学生获得小礼物,使每个学生真切的感受到节日的气氛。利用教师自己想要送给妈妈礼物的情形,既能引出本课重点句型“What do you want to buy?”,同时又能培养学生关爱父母的情怀。】
2. Learn “special”
(The students open their gifts, and then show them to the others in order to lead out the word “special”, because there are some bombs.)

1. Ask and answer in pairs
