The central topic of this unit is that students use some descriptive words to describe animals and to express preferences. In this part, some words of animals and the adjectives to describe them are important. Besides, students have to use the sentences patterns:” Why do you like…/Why do you want to see…?” and its answer “Because…” And the sentences” Where are they from/Where do they come from?” and its answer” They are from/ They come from…”to practice and consolidate target language.

The class has 50 students. And their overall climate for learning is not very good. But most of them want to learn. As students of grade 7, they don’t have certain learning foundation.

Step1: Review
Review what they have learn last lesson.
Step2: Presentation

Step3: Practice
a)
Two boxes, one is with letter J (Jenny), the other is with letter P (Peter). Teacher gives the boxes to two students randomly, then teacher face to blackboard and say:” begin to pass the boxes.” Students pass the boxes until teacher say “stop”, and the boxes are in one’s hands, the students should stand up and roles play the conversation.
b)
Two volunteers come to platform, and then teacher gives them the cards of animals. The other students say: “I like” ,when hear that volunteers should show a card and say the word, and then whole class say the sentence and ask them some question:” Why do you like…?” “Where are they from?” Volunteers should answer the questions. At last, the volunteers who show most same cards will be golden partner.
Step4: Production
Students can use the pattern which in 3c to guess animals. And they also can describe animals. For example, An elephant has a long nose, two big ears and four legs.
