http://sucimg.itc.cn/sblog/j4267f461527b54da4257e0a2249a73eb 二进院正房主题为“归籍京师”，展示曹雪芹和家人从南京沿大运河至北京，于十七间半居住生活的相关考证文章，考古遗址勘探照片和文物等；西厢房主题为“寻梦蒜市口”，讲述曹雪芹于此地居住的活动轨迹，清代此地繁华的商业对曹氏创作的影响等；东厢房主题为“红楼一梦”，主要包括曹雪芹所著《红楼梦》各主要版本在北京的抄写、刻印与流传等。

2000年至今的22年复建过程中，东城区文物部门秉承严谨、科学、扎实的态度，使文物建筑保留其宝贵的历史价值。曹雪芹故居院落占地790平方米，三进房屋，建筑面积约440平方米。复建的“十七间半”是根据拆除时留下的照片，并参考了同时期文献照片以及红学专家的建议，按照清末时的形制进行复建，房顶依旧采用木结构框架，从工艺和原材料都使用清末形制，建设过程中也尽量使用当时拆除的老物件。2019年1月，曹雪芹故居复建工程正式启动。2020年10月，北京曹雪芹故居纪念馆复建项目落成。
