前面说到，嘉定东大街最古老的建筑是城隍庙；的确，嘉定建县就开始了城隍庙的历史。现在还是上海保存最完美的邑庙建筑。
供奉的城隍爷是，在嘉定为官仅仅一年的陆陇其；可见其影响之大。
