迈阿密大学音乐学院的打击乐专业的宗旨是培养打击乐学生精益求精、多元化发展，以配合及超越二十一世纪的音乐需求。打击乐专业教师是在这一领域富有多年演出和教学经验的教师，培养学生在独奏和管弦乐两个方面的技能，在研究生阶段，打击乐学生有机会在管弦乐或打击乐独奏方面追求更具体的方向，课程可以自定义，但仍以一对一指导和室内乐课程为重点。

本科和研究生：托福不低于80，雅思不低于6.5

3.GRE成绩

申请以下学位和专业的，需要提交GRE成绩，分数不低于295，需要包含语文和数学，分析型写作（Analytical Writing）不低于4分

Demonstrate roll in various dynamics (pp crescendo to FF and decrescendo to pp)

Perform an etude and/or a rudimental solo. Repertoire suggestions:

A. Cirone, Etude from "Portraits in Rhythm"

J. Pratt, Rudimental Solo from "14 Modern Contest Solos for Snare Drum"

Mallets：

Play major/minor scales and arpeggios on xylophone - two octaves up and down.

Perform both: a 2 and 4 mallet solo either on the marimba, vibraphone or xylophone (free choice of instrument for each of the two solos).

(Marimba) A fast and a slow Mvt. from "6 Cello Suites" by J.X. Bach

(Xylophone) Any ragtime by George H. Green

Timpani：

Tune the timpani to various pitches, which are played on the piano.

V. Firth, any etude from "The Solo Timpanist" 26 etudes.

Section 1 Orchestral

Timpani: 4 standard excerpts from the orchestral repertoire

Snare Drum: 5 standard excerpts from the orchestral repertoire

Xylophone: 4 standard excerpts from the orchestral repertoire

Glockenspiel: 3 standard excerpts from the orchestral repertoire

Tambourine: 2 standard excerpts from the orchestral repertoire

One Multi-Percussion solo or movement of significant musical sophistication and technical difficulty (duration ca. 10 minutes):

Cymbals: Tchaikovsky Overture to Romeo and Julliette
