　　1960年夏天，也就是40年前的今天，一个叫做甲壳虫（The Beatles）的乐队诞生在利物浦。其后的9年，是他们在全世界缔造的音乐神话。1969年，甲壳虫在SAVILE ROW的APPLE公司总部的屋顶上举行了他们最后的公众演出。

  美国的大学是分等级的。名牌大学不仅学费较高，而且学生质量也比较好。名牌大学学生的特点就是特别有志而勤奋。米校也是名牌大学，在这个学校当尖子很难，在哈佛大学就更难。美国的一般普及类大学的情况则有所不同。但有一点应该看到，美国是私有社会，它不会白白养人的。人们靠竞争生存，靠自己的能力生存。所以美国的孩子从小就培养起了什么事都靠自己的习惯，读大学也是靠自己打工、贷款，很自立，他们从不依赖父母活一辈子.

  还有一点，就是美国大学对教师水平或业绩的评估，非常重视学生的反馈意见。每逢期末，学生们都要为给自己授课的教师打分，如果大多数学生对教师不满意，就会直接导致教师下岗。所以，在美国大学任教是很有危机感的，如何既要讲好课，又要严格要求学生并使学生满意，这的确是门学问

    Sonora Dodd, of Washington, first had the idea of a 'father''s day.' She thought of the idea for Father''s Day while listening to a Mother''s Day sermon in 1909.
