According a survey conducted by CCTV2, to earn more money, some smart Chinese businessmen established companies overseas and registered some foreign style trademarks through some channels. After that, they made some orders of garments made in china, then labeled them with those “foreign trademarks”. It turned out those products are very popular in Chinese mainland’s markets.
If that’s true, an American can firstly establish a company in the U.S., and then register lots of garments trademarks.
Secondly, he goes to china, finding a garment factory, placing orders.
Thirdly, he can rent a commodity facility to sell his products. Or he just finds some agents, letting them sell his products. Basically it doesn’t cost you too much; all you need is time and a good Chinese partner.
If foreigners know china better, if they have some reliable Chinese friends, it’s relatively easy for them to make money in china.
Yantai is a good place for foreign investors to do legitimate business, and it also is an excellent place to make quick money. GM has an auto assembly plant here, producing compact car “Chevrolet”
I wanted to practice my English listening comprehension this morning, so I logged on to www.cbsnews.com to watch its video programs. It’s amazing that I could catch most of the news. After a long time of study, I deserved to reap some rewards.
But sometimes I was so eager to express what I think that I often speak English too quickly, causing some misunderstanding and mistakes in pronunciation, which should be a big problem for me to pay attention to.
Supporting a family is becoming more and more difficult these days; I can hardly make ends meet myself. I’m just considering a part-time job given that I have lots of spare time.
I hope the medication can restore them to full health.
I haven’t posted any articles for quite some time, because basically there is nothing that interests me. However, something special still appeals to me.
First, we’re expecting our twins in December, which is one of the blessings of my family. Now I spend a lot of time and efforts taking care of my wife. Thanks to the one-child policy in china, not everybody is so lucky like us.
Second, I have been making progress in my English. Much of my efforts are focused on the listening comprehension translating Chinese into English, and few has been made to improve my spoken English. Fortunately Shawn came back from the U.S., I can visit and talk to him regularly.
Third, I have finished some work that satisfied my boss, although they are small ones. Acquiring a good impression on me is vital to my career prospect.
The whole nation is expecting the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the PRC, and the authorities are trying every ways to ensure the security and stabilization of the current situation. Whereas in the U.S., wildfires in California hit the headlines, health care reform triggers the national debate; everything seems to be in disorder. Living in china is a blessing now.
Today a local manufacturer invited me to have lunch together, hoping get some advice and help from us. Lily should have been invited to meet with them, yet she has been busy all day. Mr. Liu, the general manager of the company, used to work in Yantai Watch Factory, started his own business eight years ago. Now his business is booming with exporting $1 million products to countries like ROP, Malaysia, US and Canada.
It seems that Mr. Liu is good at dealing with his clients and his wife help him a lot in running the business. However I suggest that they should get along with the relevant government departments, thus obtaining a large amount of information and some practical assistance. In china, governments are play an important role in help the enterprises overcome difficulties and go global.
Actually we can also acquire some investment information from these entrepreneurs, because they are actively looking for foreign partners and clients, and some time they will establish joint ventures to explore the market together. In that case, we can play a part in it.
Making more friends with those entrepreneurs means a lot to us, so we must catch every opportunity to treat them well and at the same time get what we want.

They have informed me of attending the appreciation dinner at the Pacific Hotel yesterday, yet I didn’t show any interest in it. So I just rebuffed my colleague’s invitation. I’ve been participating in the so-called international animation festival three times, and I haven’t seen some European and American enterprises attending the festival. Only some representatives from the animation industry in Japan and ROK came to Yantai, just because we pay their fares and accommodations.
The organizer boasted it as a successful and fruitful event, but I didn’t buy that. There is still a long way to go for us; we shouldn’t satisfy our current achievements.
Many cities, like Yantai, are actively developing animation industry in spite of their traditions and infrastructure, and they didn’t reap the benefits they wanted. Zhifu should take the lesson and develop its competitive industries. In my opinion, Zhifu should take advantage those animation enterprises and the festival to meet the demand of the public, and not just want to invite foreign investment. The ultimate goal of our work is to serve the people with excellent integrated environment, not just to follow the fashion.
So in my view the festival wasn’t a fruitful one.
I’m so pleased to know that the French investor will come to visit Yantai tomorrow afternoon. I will pick him up at the airport with Michel.
We haven’t got any information about his investment in Yantai, neither Darcy nor Michel knows it. According to my experience, it won’t be a big investment, yet I will still show him our enthusiasm and welcome.
Also I received an e-mail from Shawn, who is now in the states and have a good time with his family. He promises to treat me to dinner when he comes back. Actually I just want to be his friend and learn English.
