Today is a very special day for me and for many other people around the world who celebrate Christmas. Last year I spent the Christmas festival in China with my friends and team mates from WE. I remember that I went to have a good dinner with King, Wufan, Tony and Snow. After that we teamed up with all players from WE to play some games at a club and afterwards we went to a bar to have some drinks together. It was a really different way to celebrate Chirstmas than I usually did. However, it was a nice experience and we had a lot of fun for sure. But this year I am happy to be with my family again for the most important festival in Germany. Especially the dinner tonight is my personal high light of Christmas and of course the exchange of presents afterwards =)

I hope everyone is doing well today and even tho many of you do not celebrate Chirstmas like we do, I still want to wish you a merry Christmas and a lot of joy for the festival of love and contemplativeness. Have a good time!

I was waiting at the airport in Cologne fort he flight with the number CA935. I waited already more than 30 min and then I saw the message, that the flight is delayed about 20 minutes. So I decided to buy a bottle of coke and a small snack to spend my waiting time. After I finished my snack the airplane CA935 has finally landed. Then the bus driver called me, he said that there is some problem with the bus and he will be at the airport about 1 hour later. However, since the airplane also had delay, it was not a big problem. After horrible long 50 minutes the first face coming out was King’s. He was followed by Infi, Like and TeD, and behind them was the whole Chinese WCG team. Because the bus was not there and all were really hungry, we decided to eat something while waiting for the bus. So we ended up at McDonalds and just 10 minutes later the bus came which took us to Cologne, about 150 km and almost 2 driving hours far from Frankfurt. When arrived at the hotel at 22:00 all were pretty tired and went to directly to bed. I just checked the latest football results and then also fell asleep.

Today we will go to visit some places in Cologne and of course eat some German “hot-dog”. Since they all know the famous Cologne church already from their last visit at WC3L finals last year, maybe we will go to the “Cologne Chocolate Museum”. At least TeD was very happy about this idea and he said he wants to buy a lot of chocolate there. There is also the WCG opening ceremony in the evening which we will attend. So let’s see what today will bring, I hope it will be a pretty smooth day with a lot of fun and enough time for the players to recover from their travelling stress.

After a long time without any blog or report from me, I finally found the time and motivation to inform you about what happened during the past months and what is going to happen next week.

As some of you probably know, I returned to Germany in July after Blizzard WWI and ESWC Masters in Paris where I was staying together with Sky for almost 2 weeks. The year in China was definitely the best experience in my life so far and if there is a chance, I will come back for sure. Thanks to all the lovely people I met and all the friends I made during my time in Shanghai and my countless trips to different events all over China.
However, I had to return to Germany to go on with my studies because I believe that you have to be educated well to become the best in what you are doing. At the moment there are a lot hard working people in Esports though not many have graduated from university yet. Therefore it is natural that I'm trying to the get an advantage by studying and putting my knowledge into Esports later on. For all of you who are interested in it, I am currently studying at the 'Friedrich-Schiller-University' in Jena. If you also stay here in that lovely city, feel free to contact me because I also noticed quite a lot Chinese students being here.

To talk about what happened during the last 4 months in Esports, I have to say that I'm really happy with our performance taking the 2nd place at WC3L. It was such a great relief to see us qualifying directly for the finals and it feels good that the hard work paid off - and it was definitely not an easy task this time. Also I have the mention the superb results of Sky and TeD at ESWC Grand Finals as well as TeD and Suho at MGC and Infi at WEM.
You are quite right, if you think that I forgot something to mention! It is the Chinese WCG qualification. Like did a really good job and finally won his first major tournament allowing him to attend his first big international competition. Also Infi secured himself a spot taking the 3rd place. After weeks and months have past, it is also sure that probably the world's best UD player will attend WCG after wNv.Sai got his visa refused. The 3 Chinese participants will be Like, Infi and TeD now, 3 players of WE, 3 former players of WE.08 - what a surprise, but not for me! These 3 players did incredibly well during 2008 and I am really happy to welcome them in Germany.

On Tuesday, 04th of November, they will fly to Frankfurt and I will go there to meet with them and the whole Team China of this WCG. Also my good friend and colleague King will come to support our players. I booked a bus for the whole team and we will go together to Cologne where the competition is going to start on Thursday morning. I hope a lot of fans will come to support the players of WE.Pepsi as well as all the other 800 gamers of this WCG.

I am here in Beijing at PGL together with Sky, Like and Suho. After two days of team battles the elimination will start today. Fov, ToD, Focus and Fordream, only two of them will make it to the next round, the other two will be going home tonight. I personally expect Focus and ToD to win today, but Fov showed on the first PGL day, that he is still motivated and powerful. The other group playing today is Sky's group and since they won all the team matches, nobody have to fear to be kicked out today. However, I'm sure everyone will give his best today since at top 2 place would mean two days without games and a lot of time to practice and rest! While I'm sitting here and thinking about what I could possible write in this blog, Sky and Susi started their first game and I guess it won't be easy for Sky since Susiria did well in practice vs. ToD yesterday.

To tell you guys a little bit more about PGL, there at like three things I'd like to get you an insight on. The first thing is of course the food here at PGL. Like was right when he said the food in PGL is good, it's really good and I'm now really hungry and can't wait until 'chao fan' arrives. The second thing is my room mate here at PGL, it's a Starcraft player from Poland also known as MYM.Dreiven. He's a really nice guy, but on Sunday we can't be friends! Do you know why? Because Germany is going to play Poland in European Soccer Cup and we are both huge fans of our country team (Germany fighting !!!!).
Last but not least I got to tell you about the beer-drinking skills of Sky, Fov and Sase. We went to a restaurant the night before yesterday with like 10 people, a lot of Koreans, Sky, Like, Sase, Fly, Lie and I and after eating we started to drink some beers, but unfortunately we couldn't stop and especially Fov, Sase and Sky did really well. However, all three had to say GG when they were back in their hotel room :)

How about the plans for the next couple of days? Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow I will go with Sky, Like and Suho to an event of our sponsor Kingston here in Beijing and of course also follow the games here at PGL. Especially tomorrow will be an important day for Suho and Like I really hope they can survive and make it to the next stage of PGL, because they practiced so much for this tournament and they just got a little bit unlucky with their team matches since they lost two times 3:4.
Of course I also want to visit some nice places in Beijing, and I hope and I find the time for it. Also ToD asked me to go club tonight, but I'm not sure yet since I have to stand up really early tomorrow.

今天我不要写英语,因为我学习了汉语9个月在上海大学所以我会说中文. 但是我说得不太好,因为我常常很忙和不能去上课. 可是我好好学天天向上. 如果你们去PGL,WC3L或者IEF请说中文跟我. IEF以后我和SKY一起去法国然后我回家,所以我现在练习很多 - 在德国不太多人会说中文 :) 

 

PGL怎么样? 星期二Like,Suho和我坐飞机. 星期一晚上Sky坐火车然后我们见面在北京. 我觉得PGL比赛很好,我们都喜欢PGL,特别Like很高兴,因为在PGL饭很好吃! 我去北京第一次,所以我很兴奋! 我要看看天安门还有长城, 这个地方在欧洲很有名.

In this blog I will write about my last month in China and update you guys with interesting stories from PGL, WC3L and IEF. After these 3 tournaments I will go to Paris, France together with WE.Sky and accompany him at Blizzard's WWI tournament as well as the ESWC Masters match taking place at the beginning of July.
