HammertoeOverview
Patients and doctors often refer to all forms of toe abnormalities as a Hammertoe. There are in fact four main forms of toe abnormalities, hammer toes, claw toes, mallet toes and trigger toes. A hammertoe can be best described as an abnormal contraction or 'buckling' of a toe. This occurs due to a partial or complete dislocation of one of the joints that form the toe. As the toe continues to be deformed, it will press up against the shoe and may cause corns.

Causes
Hammertoes are a contracture of the toes as a result of a muscle imbalance between the tendons on the top of the toes (extensor tendons) and the

HammertoeOverview
A Hammertoe or contracted toe is a deformity of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the second, third, or fourth toe causing it to be permanently bent, resembling a hammer. Mallet toe is a similar condition affecting the distal interphalangeal joint.

Causes
A common cause of hammertoe and mallet toe is wearing improper footwear - shoes that are too tight in the toe box, or high-heel shoes. Wearing shoes of either type can push your toes forward, crowding one or more of them into a space that's not large enough to allow your toes to lie flat. Hammertoe and mallet toe deformities can also be inherited and may occur despite wearing appropriate footwear.

Bunion Pain A bunion is an enlargement of bone at the great toe joint. Tight shoes don't cause bunions, but they can aggravate them. Bunions are often inherited and become worse over time if left untreated they can cause pain, swelling, skin irritation and other foot problems. Can become worse over time if left untreated they can cause pain. Pain and reduced motion may occur as arthritis develops. You should have a foot examination as soon as possible if you have this condition.

Causes
Bunions are most widely considered to be due to an imbalance in the forces that is exerted across the joint during walking. The resulting abnormal motion and pressure over the joint, over many years (combined with poor fitting footwear) leads to instability in the joint caus

Overview
Bunion Pain Bunions are bony bumps that form on the side of the big toe joint or baby toe joint (these are commonly called ?bunionettes? or ?tailor?s bunions?). Bunions most commonly result from one or more of the following factors: genetics, faulty foot mechanics like over-pronation, and/or long periods of time spent in improperly fitting footwear. Bunions can start with audible clicking (called ?crepitus?) and/or stiffness in the affected joint which indicates that the joint surfaces are rubbing together improperly. This may progress to include inflammation, degeneration of the surfaces of the joint, deformity (including bone growth at the joint line and displacement of the toe) and ultimately, loss of range of motion in the joint.

Causes
Women are particularly at risk for bunions, as high heels may help

Wash feet daily but don't use water that is too hot. Use a mild soap and dry them gently. Use a moisturising lotion but don't rub this between the toes If diabetics care for their feet and monitor their condition on a regular basis, they will be able to seek treatment as soon as a problem arises. While there is no cure for some conditions, correct care can often prevent them from occurring. Perhaps the biggest misconception that consumers are surprised to overcome is the erroneous connection of orthopaedic footwear with unsightly and bland shoes. Instead, orthopaedic shoes now longer look like their counterparts from just a short decade ago! According to a podiatrist in Rockville, MD, diabetics are always at high risk of developing serious foot problems because the condition leads to reduced blood flow to the feet which then prevents small wounds from healing properly; blisters, cuts, and scratches are considered dangerous for diabetics because not only do they heal really slowly, but

Some might ask though, so as to whether searching for the perfect shoe insoles is a very much difficult task. While its not the easiest pursuit, finding the right insoles should not take more than a few hours. After all, aside from visiting actual stores that offer such footwear add-ons, one may also browse countless shops online geared towards those in search of the perfect additions to their shoes. Regardless of one’s shopping approach, rest assured that wearing the right shoe inserts should keep one’s self bunion-free. He said that one of the ways to combat this problem is to massage the bottoms of the feet with a rich ointment. You can also alter your behavior. If you are currently doing a lot of running and jumping, you can switch to low-impact exercises, such as swimming or cycling. When at rest, get into the habit of putting your feet up to relieve the pressure. Exercising your ankle and stretching the Achilles tendon eases symptoms for some people. If you have 'just' strained
