Wine consumption in South Korea was flat between 2006 and 2010,
increasing by only 0.37% in the 5 years. In 2011, after a free
trade agreement was signed between South Korea and the European
Union, wine consumption in the Asian nation grew by 8.4% compared
to 2010.
The VINEXPO world market survey forecasts that this return to
growth will be sustained between 2011 and 2015 to reach 26.44% by
the end of the 5-year period.
South Korea today is the third largest Asian wine market after
China and Japan. Each Korean adult drinks an average of 2.7 litres

The Fine Wine Market Outlook 2012 is a joint report by journalist-based intelligence service Wealthmonitor and online magazine Wine Yields.
Just under 60% of respondents said they expected the fine wine market to increase in value over the year, with most expecting gains of 10%.
