Cristiano Ronaldo has an extraterrestrial body and numbers, but he is human and the years that pass inexorably also weigh on him. 'If it were up to me I would only play the Champions League matches and those with the national team,' he said recently in an interview with France Fooball, but the fact that he did not like the double substitution in just one week (in the Champions League with Lokomotiv and against Milan) it contradicts him: if it were for him he would always play, between Juve and Portugal, which then is more or less what has happened so far, and in the end the double work wears out even the most trained bodies and affects performance. The seasonal numbers of CR7 in bianconero say that so far it has done worse than last year (6 goals against 9 of the same period of 2018-19) but behind there is also a different management of the Portuguese.

DOUBLE WORK

Ronaldo last summer had decided to devote himself only to Juventu

For a long time, there was an unwavering respect that seemed to change how the Premier League packaged its rivalries

Throughout much of the last 25 years, football supporters in this land have been force fed a diet
of sniping, dig, jabs and, of course, the fabled 'mind games' in the coverage of the country's biggest and best footballing sides

From Manchester United and Newcastle with Alex Ferguson and Kevin Keegan, through to Jose

Invited France Info on Wednesday, Michel Platini spoke about the introduction of quotas for foreign players. The French is clearly in favor, citing the example of the PSG which could be called 'Coca-Cola' because of its lack of local identity.

Michel Platini is on a media tour. On the occasion of the release of his book 'Between us' which returns on the bottom of its fall, the former president of the UEFA is in the countryside to rehabilitate his name after the end of his four-year suspension . And he decided to evade any subject, not munching his words, even on controversial ones like quotas to limit the number of foreign players in the teams.

'Money kills a philosophy of football'
The legendary number ten laments the importance of money in football. 'Today, you buy all the best players and you win - everything is based on wealth - money kills a philosophy of football - when you are UEFA president, you want ever

From this privileged seat I try to see the sport with passion but without losing sight of the perspective or the play. Around many squeak, but I only hear what interests me.

Something as elementary as going down to the locker room to congratulate a partner for his success has once again demonstrated Bale's degree of involvement with Madrid: minimum.

The public who attended the Bernabéu on Wednesday enjoyed a round night for the first time in a long time. Real Madrid played well continuously, thrashed easily, ranks the qualification for the round of 16, several players skirted their best version and as if that were not enough, fans had the impression of attending live at an exceptional moment: the birth of a star , Rodrygo Goes. It is not a minor matter because Madrid has long been in search of a new face with which to get excited again and Hazard is delaying, although it will end up reaching the expected level.

After the game, RealMadrid TV cameras showed us a scene that had an endearing point. On the night of his consecration afte

It is not a secret that Fifa wants to connect more closely with China but while the awarding of the 2021 CLub World Cup is a blessing, it comes with a lot of pressure.

FIFA wants to build alternative revenue sources to the World Cup which is relies on for most of its income. Having a Club World Cup that features 24 teams, expanded from seven that is currently is,  could be a big money-spinner.

For China, it offers the chance to showcase its organisational skills, fantastic stadiums all over the country and its love for football. It would be a major step towards hosting the World Cup (although some has said that it could be seen as a consolation prize to China in case it does not get the World Cup -I don’t believe this is true as nobody is thinking that far ahead).

For China and Asia, this is great. Opening up the Club World CUp to several Asian clubs is a great opportunity. Instead o

Anyone can beat anyone in the ‘best league in the world’ – but is that really a cause for celebration?

We were having a conversation in the office the other day. “Isn’t it great?” said a colleague. “Norwich and Wolves beating Manchester City. Brighton and Newcastle beating Spurs. West Ham and Crystal Palace beating Manchester United. It’s how it should be, isn’t it?”

In theory, yes it is — and no, the colleague in question does not support Liverpool, the one team to have sailed serenely though the opening eight rounds of this Premier League campaign while even Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have found themselves blown off course.

Goodness knows we should welcome a bit of unpredictability, given that, for the past three seasons, the same teams have finished in the top six. In 2016-17, there was an eight-point gap between sixth (Manchester United) and seventh (E

An overwhelming sense of sadness shrouded the
pleasure of spending a couple of hours yesterday
watching footage of Paul Pogba’s supreme moments
at Manchester United, particularly the passing, the elegant way
in which he releases Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial
with a swish of his right foot.

Such joy became dragged into frustration at a feeling of
exceptional talent insu ciently expressed, of the likelihood of
Pogba eventually leaving next year with greatness unfullled at
United, a World Cup winner who never fully delivered at Old
Tra ord. Regrets? Club and player should have a few.

The undeniable impression of wasted opportunity felt
particularly poignant after listening to a senior gure at Old
Tra ord describe Pogba as a “perfect professional”, a likeable
