假期，除了看电影上网和家务之外，很高兴，能够读完刚出版的新书《中国魅力》。读下来，这本书比起前几年介绍中国文化的书，参考的资料比较多，值得一读。正好在bbc看到有作者访谈，就把它转过来，了解一下英国人眼里的中国历史和文化。
如果你有足够的知识和同情心，就不一定是个彻底的外人。你当然不会成为中国人，但你能理解。理解和同情心是使你成为半个“自己人”的关键。-----吴芳思

不同的家庭自然是有不同的圣诞传统，但相同的是，每个家庭都在一年的年尾，尽情地享受着天伦之乐。

《平安夜之颂》
这是我们系里组织的庆祝圣诞自助餐，在系里的休息活动室举行。这活动室，平时同事们在这里喝茶休息聊天交流科研信息。
在此博文发出不久， 就收到几位曾经在我们系里进修的中国访问学者的邮件，他（她）们告诉我：很高兴，能在我的博客里看到所熟悉的场所和曾经在南安普顿医学院一起工作的同事们。我也很高兴，为我的博客能起到桥梁的作用。‘佳节倍思亲’，我们在大洋的这边向中国的同行同事致意，祝你们圣诞快乐，新年好！！

圣诞节到来期间，和中国的春节期间大体相似，学校各级各系各研究室里面的各种庆祝聚会活动几乎充满了这年底最后一个月。把我们研究室的圣诞大餐的照片放到这里，让亲人，同学，朋友分享我们的活动. 上菜吃饭的时候，光顾吃了，没拍照，加上照片拍得不专业，凑合着看哈。
