Arguement 200(2007-03-08 00:36)

Statistics collected from dentists indicated that three times more men than women faint while visiting the dentist. This evidence suggests that men are more likely to be distressed about having dental work done than women are. Thus, dentists who advertise to attract patients should target the male consumer and emphasize both the effectiveness of their anesthetic techniques and sensitivity of their staff to nervous or suffering patients.

The author of this arguement suggests that dentists who make advertisement to attract patients should pay more attention to male patients, and stress their ability to sense the patients' pain as well as boast their perfect anesthetic techniques. To support his idea the author cites statistics from some dentists which shows male patients are easier to faint than the female ones. In my point of view the arguement contains several logical mistakes, which ma

'Most societies do not take their greatest thinkers seriously, even when they claim to admire them.'

It is frequently remarked that beyond the superficial admiration to those great thinkers, most society seldom regard them truly significant. It is true that most people do respect the great philosophers in history, but few of them may be aware of their great philosophical theories or the improvement for philosophy they have made. Once the animated thought about life, truth and wisdom is capped as particular 'ism', it seems to be announcing to all common people that philosophy is not touchable, standing high above the masses. In my point of view, the whole society should try to take philosophy more seriously, and on the other hand philosophers should try to modify their theories more applicable for the masses.

The modern society is tending to be

'If a society is to thrive, it must put its overall success before the well-being of its individual citizens.'

It is frequent remarked that the overall success of a society is prior to the individual winnings on their own career. The benefits of the collectivity and of the individual being are seemingly controvercial and incompatible, and the two sides often conflict severely. In my point of view, the success of the whole society is obviously much more important than the well-being of any one of its individuals, but for the sake of the collective success, adequate respect must also be shown to individuals.

The success of the whole society is usually gigantic compared with individual success and thus much more important. None of the individuals could achieve as great and significant success as his nation, due to lack of economic power and political authority.
Arguement 38(2007-03-06 18:51)
The following memo appeared in the newsletter of the West Meria Public Health Council.
'An innovative treatment has come to our attention that promises to significantly reduce absenteeism in our schools and workplaces. A study reports that in nearby East Meria, where fish consumption is very high, people visit the doctor only once or twice a year for the treatment of colds. Clearly, eating a substantial amount of fish can prevent colds. Since colds are the reason most frequently given for absence from school and work, we recommend the daily use of Ichihaid, a nutritional supplement derived from fish oil, as a good way to prevent colds and lower absenteeism.'

The author of this memo suggests a new way of lowering the absenteeism in schools and workplaces. He reasons that such absence are mainly due to colds, and suggests of eating Ichihaid, which is a nutritional supplement made from fish. To support his conclusion he cites the phenomenon tha

147. The following appeared in an editorial in a business magazine.
'Although the sales of Whirlwind vedio games have declined over the past two years, a recent survey of vedio-game player suggests that sales trend is about to be reversed. The survey asked vedio-game players what features they thought were most important in a vedio game. According to the survey, players prefer games that provide lifelike grafics, which require the most up-to-date computers. Whirlwind has just introduced several such games with an extensive advertising campaign directed at people 10 to 25 years old, the age-group most likely to play vedio games. It follows, then, that the sales of Whirlwind vedio games are likely to increase dramatically in the next few months.'

The author predicts in this editorial that Whirlwind (WW), a vedio-game studio, will end and reverse its decline in vedio-game sales in the next few months. To support his prediction, the author reasons that a recent s

Claitown University needs both affordable housing for its students and a way to fund the building of such housing. The best solution to this problem is to commission a famous architect known for experimental and futuristic buildings. It is common knowledge that tourists are willing to pay money to tour some of the architect's buildings, so it can be expected that tourists will want to  visit this new building. The income from the fees charged to tourists will soon cover the building cost. Furthermore, such a building will attract new students as well as donations from alumni. And even though such a building will be much larger than our current need for student housing, part of the building can be used as office space.

In this arguement, the author makes such conclusion that Claitown University (CU) should invite a well-known architect to design its new dormitory building for students, in order to make the housing affordable as well as to see

'Most people would agree that buildings represent a valuable record of any society's past, but controversy arises when old buildings stand on ground that modern planner feel could be better used for modern purposes. In such situations, modern development should be given precedence over the preservation of historic buildings so that contemporary needs can be served.'

The controversy about scientific evidence for the issue whether to protect historic buildings or to tear them down for the sake of modern development has become much disputed subject these years. People who indicates the value of old buildings and their counterparts have both got valid evidences to supported their view, and the two sides often have severe arguements or even conflicts. In my point of view, it is of inviolability for us to protect buildings of significant historic meaning, but if such buildings stand in the way of projects which would benefit modern people and their

'It is necessary for everyone to read poetry, novels, mythology and other types of imaginative literature.'

Frequently, it has been remarked that imaginative literature is of great importance to every social member, from company managers or scientific researchers to ordinary employees. However, those who claimed this would find it surprising to see that such reading is excluded in everyday life of common people. In my point of view, it is surely of significance for us to read as many fictions as we can in our spare time.
Imaginative literature is a huge source of wisdom for life. Everyone who has read a large quantity of poetry will not deny that there are so much to learn from hinting words of metaphor in them. One would be filled with gloom when he meets failure and frustration. In such moodiness he would not notice the great hope hovering around nearby. It is nothing else but the f

I'm still a little unfamiliar here. Never mind, it will soon be there.
It seem to me that writing blog is something you would like to do because you want something personal to be exposed, to be shared, to be understood and admitted by a larger amount of people, acquainted or not. Although it is of little probability that your blog would be seen by someone of no relationship with you, it still made us excited to have this situation considered. What the usual case is you established a blog cycle with those ones you know well of, your friends and relations, on this not so much actual, or veracious, place, forgiving my words if there is anything offensive. Just as everything else online, blog, in my opinion, is an unreal thing, only to satisfy our vanity of slef-expression_r, or self-ostentation, by the way of which has satisfied the peeping desire of else.
