It is difficult to categorize Peng Si as an artist. Among his paintings, there are not only strictly realist portraitures of figures, but also the expressive representational landscape, birds and flowers, and even the wonders of surrealist composition of men and nature. Peng Si wanders between these three completely different styles, its powerful and unconstrained style grants forms according to its shape, resembles water, and even more so to wind.

As a young artist from the “post-80’s” generation, categorically Peng Si should be placed under the “New new generation”, although his depth in thinking and artistic skills show us a calmness and profoundness – that would not be quite precise to say it’s widely different or transcendent, yet we certainly see an alternative landscape of culture in this circumstances.
