     宋代张载《正蒙·太和》：“太虚无形，气之本体，其聚其散，变化之客形尔。” 清代魏源的《默觚上·学篇十四》：“太虚之精气流动，充盈於天地之间。”
    太虚，是道貌。老子《道德经》认为，道大而虚静。所以，这里的“太虚”实际上就是指老子、庄子所说的“道”。《道德经》又言：“道生一，一生二，二生三，三生万物。”道家认为，世界的本源是道。
