Our Ilusive Stage...(2006-11-21 03:07)
Can't believe the school is still finding excuses not to allow us use the stage...

Meeting the assistant directors and ELAA tomorrow before heading for Nanjing tomorrow...

Hate to let down the dear actors, if i can survive this...
Our Stage(2006-10-31 22:59)
So we will have a little theater after all, sitting about 300 to 400 hundred. Ideal. Saw it today even. A deserted stage which i saw one. But it will do. And i am thinking of designing a set for the specific stage.

i am relieved actually that we dont have to go to the auditorim that sits 2000 hundred. That's too much. and i dont want to try dubbing.

Now the set design, the poster...
My Regrets(2006-10-31 22:53)
A real double cast for every major role should have been done.

Actors should have been told to read aloud their lines every day and recite them after two weeks.

Stronger leadership should have been left to the assistant directors who, in return, should have been told what they should do and can do from the very beginning. Nic alone has been doing too much, but more like getting people together rather than an assistant. He should have been pushed for some more creative thinking to learn to direct on his own later on.

...

After all these many days, all this much work, with all these many people, i see real drama goes on, on any makeshify stage we rehearse.

Most of the actors are working very hard. Poor Fejevary, he has all these many lines to learn by heart, and no understudy! I should have pursuades Beyond to do it much earlier before it was too late.

I have perfect Isabel and a highly reliable Madeline. And the crossdressed Senator is also going to be great. She has great sense of the language.

Scene II of Act II we just did was great. I felt never happier, unless perhaps when that rehearsal of Act I on the roof took the first step close to drama.

A great day! At the end of this month! We didnt even take a rest on National Day! I had three Madelines to choose then. Glad i made the right choice for one at least.

See you all then!

ACTORS' APDs(2006-09-20 02:41)

Actors’ APDs

Never been busier! While the Parisans say they are either home or at a cafe, i am either teaching or preparing teaching! Luckily, however, i am meeting all the actors tomorrow evening (after teacing all day!).The undergraduates will be doing Inheritors and the graduates will be doing Trifles.

Truth is never been busier and happier! doing what i can and what i like!

ELAA Comes!!!(2006-09-06 23:02)
Just met Cindy and Billy, the two new leaders of ELAA, both with theater experience!

And ELAA has already made her name on campus! Dear Frank, the play they put on last year at the welcome party for freshman was a great success! it was organized and directed by the former chairperson of ELLA. Will Cindy and Billy set out to do even better in their one-year term?

Nic will continue to help me despite of all help ELAA is going to provide for the event.

Audition is to be held on Sept.13th. Wondering how many more are to join us...
Less than 24 hours before i get on the train home, three applications came. Isn't it very exciting? Wondering if they learn about it from campus poster or department notice.

NJU, i am leaving in gratitude and ...hope:)
They are there indeed, fireflies. Simba saw them, before he saw Mufasa, his life-giver. The moment he saw them, he thought he was going to have in an endless night, forced to recall the night of his life when he thought he brought the end of his father's life. But the sun RISES.So does Simba. Goes to Prideland and gets done what should have been done as the rightful king of Prideland.

And i sam them too. On the stage, wandering from middle upper stage to the right to Simba; to my heartland.

Just because i have been possessed by the idea of becoming a firefly does not mean i should see them so soon! But life is such a miracle!

Fireflies, when were the last time i saw in the countryside where i came from? where Dad has left us that way that soon? where he lives still, in me, in the way i live, always on my own. Yes, he lives in me. Fi
