STORY
A five-year-old girl Fan Fan and another
eleven-year-old boy Pu Ding found a extraordinary egg when they
were playing tennis near the zoo.
Fan thought it is a peahen’s egg and keep it as
hers.With the eager hope of hatching a peacock,Fan Fan could show
off with the help of her father in the kindergarten.
The little boy Pu Ding was aware of the
extraordinary egg should belong to him since watched the film of
Mee-Shee: The Water Giant and recollected the egg which he had
found with Fan Fan.As a architect,Fan Fan’s father ,who had
frastrated because the design of 2008 Summer Olympic stadium has
been turrned down,hard to recover since his dream is broken.whilst
he was helping his daughter to hatch the egg,the egg was broken by
accident.The dream of his daughter was broken.Owing to be profound
aware of the fact that have a unfulfillable dream is rather than a
broken dream and do not want to depress his daughter,he lay to his
daughter that the egg will be hatched and cannot in touth of
light.At the same time,he try his best to find a peahen’s egg.(the
egg is hard to find because the peacock is an an animal which is
highly protected in our country)At this moment,this city was
thriving for the centurylong dream of this country.As the tower
that reaches to the heavens,Beijing National stadium(Bird’s Nest)
is going to obtain the happiness in all corners of the world.Pu
Ding used the stick and the carrot to get the egg back from
Fan.
Moreover,he treated Fan’s home as stronghold and
associated with Xia Qian and Xia Kun who are Fan’s
friend.Simuteneously,they made up their mind to get the egg back.
she has already imagined himself as the peacock mother and did what
it prepered to do, with more of these boys stepped up their
actions, Where the eggs?where it is hidden by Fan? Boys infinite
curiosity but never did not want to see a video eggs! Boys began to
doubt! The lie of Fan’s father was detected by her teacher led to
Pu Dong and other children’s ridiculed Fan.losting self-esteem and
her favorite,Fan Fan rolled in the kindergarten playground in
public led to Xia Qian and Xia Kun who are commanded by Pu Ding
ridiculed her unwittingly.Fan Fan was very grieved and her weeping
arouse Pu Ding’s milk of human kindness.
He persuaded Fan Fan not to feeling
sorry.They want to find another egg in the zoo where they found the
first one.their idears reached a consensus ,in that they escaped
from kindergarten to the zoo.With perseverance and determination,Pu
Ding affirmed that the egg is more likely a egg that earlier than
dinosaur egg.He associated the story his father told to him about
Genesis and persisted in thinking that the zoo is a historical
relic of prehistoric kingdom and the egg is the key to that
kingdom.Heaven-reaching tree arouse their memories of good old days
when the world’s people have a dream…
At the moment,the mountain and the earth
begun to shake and move.Furthermore,time,the earth,and
everything in all corners of the world wanished with an egg
survived luckily...They found the losting tennis ball…The sun was
setting and nothing was remarkable.Just image? Just weird image?A
green peahen emerged in their horizon.It was lying under the old
tree.A peacock was incubating under the tree.through Fan Fan’s
calm, Pu Ding felt it is mysterious and asked Fan Fan why she knew
it’s a peacock’s egg.Then,Fan Fan told him she knew it in the same
way you knew that prehistory kingdom that arouse Pu Ding’s manly
feeling and the feeling of never giving up and pursuing his unique
dream in that world.
With secret waiting and silent observation,Fan
Fan and Pu Ding found that they fled from peacock court because the
yearning for freedom.The peacock and the peahen were extremely
cautious but they didn’t have food to eat.Although the peahen is
very weak,the peacock didn’t abandon it.Love is more precious than
food.Pu Ding and Fan Fan were moved,and they decided to find food
for the two poor animals.Without the care of parents,without
money,a little girl and a little boy were cruising in the nature
and animals surrounded by the city.
Fan’s father and the administrator of the zoo took them back to
home when they were so happy as to forget home and duty.The day
after,they rushed to the zoo again,found the peacock’s nest
disappeared overnight.The turth is that the administrator of the
zoo distroyed the nest and took the peacock and the peahen back to
the zoo.Looking at the poor peacock, this two children were filled
with grief.They still have the idea of saving the peacock after
their parent’s persuasion.The egg suddenly emerged in Fan’s
home.
But Fan Fan didn’t want to possess the egg
alone.Pu Ding and she return the egg back to the peacock and the
peahen who had lost their freedom.Later,a goose was hatched in
peacock sanctuary in the zoo.(Actually,the egg that Fan Fan found
is not a peacock’s egg.Fan Fan’s mother painted a goose’s egg to
imitate a peacock’s egg in order to safeguard her daughter’s
dream.)Eventually,the peacock and the goose lived together in
peace.

dreams, human love and hatred are getting involved in it. The door
toward the fantasy is opened, while seeking, venturing in the
realistic magic world, love somehow is also expressed through the
idea of social realistic big children.

5 The historical demands in terms of nation
It is a long time has a Chinese movie not been globally recognized
“the best”. Yimou Zhang defined the children’s movie as the
historical demands in terms of nation at lianghui(two
sessions).what shall the director of “THE EGG” say then? The
revival of hopes, the gestation of dreams, the questing for the
root and the origin of life.
A world has its own dream, so does a nation, a
city, a family, an adult, a child even an egg. All the dreams, from
the smaller to the bigger, respond one another as a cubic
combination. There the dream is! So clear it is! The brooding of
dream, however, is really long. Hope, therefore, appears more
important. Kids dream to be an adult; but the dreams are fading as
we become older and older. But it is in that the mystery that where
we derived from and are going to is appearing clearer and
clearer.
