Youth
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a
matter of rosy[玫瑰红] cheeks, red lips and supple[柔软的] knees; it is a
matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor[精力] of
the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
Youth means a temperamental[喜怒无常的] predominance[优势] of courage
over timidity[胆怯], of the appetite[胃口] for adventure over the love
of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20.
Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by
deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle[使皱] the skin, but to give up enthusiasm
wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the
比如,美国人经常说:“Give me a hand.”
Foot the bill.”
“Foot the
bill.”
1:“We arrived two hours late at the big
blow-out for Charlie’s birthday because our car had a
blow-out.”

Mr. Chang is the kindest teacher that I have ever had.
Nothing is + ~~~ er than to + V Nothing is + more + 形容词 + than

例句:Nothing is more important than to receive education.
三、~~~ cannot emphasize the importance of ~~~ too

We cannot emphasize the importance of protecting our eyes too

There is no denying that + S + V ...(不可否认的...)

There is no denying that the qualities of our living have gone from

Oral English:(口语学习方法总汇)
(1)。We study spoken English so as to make oral communications,
so this order of importance of oral English study should be
followed: Fluency, Accuracy, and Appropriateness. That is to say,
we have to pay more attention to practical communicating ability
instead of only laying emphasis on the grammatical
correctness.
(2)。Try to find some partners practicing oral English together
and English corner is a good place as where we may exchange English
study experience, widen our sight and improve interest in
English.

Love Is Just a Thread
Sometimes I really doubt whether there
is love between my parents. Every day they are very busy trying to
earn money in order to pay the high tuition for my brother and me.
They don’t act in the romantic ways that I read in books or I see
on TV. In their opinion, “I love you” is too luxurious for them to say. Sending flowers to each
other on Valentine’s Day is even more out of
the question. Finally my father has a bad temper. When he’s
very tired from the hard work, it is
easy for him to lose his temper.
One day, my mother was sewing a quilt. I silently sat down beside
her and looked at her.
“Mom, I have a question to ask you,” I said after a while.
“What?” she replied, still doing her work.
“Is there love between you and D

“Learning a language is easy, even a child can do
it!”
Most adults who are learning a second language
would disagree with this statement. For them, learning a language
is a very difficult task. They need hundreds of hours of study and
practice, and even this will not guarantee success for every adult
language learner.
