Bad habits are hard to break. Breaking a bad habit takes
a lot of hard work and effort. It’s worth the effort to improve
your life by breaking a bad habit and developing a good one. For
me, how difficult breaking a bad habit can be. I waste my time on
trifles everyday. I always tell myself to stop wasting time. But,
it seems, I still wander through life like sleepwalkers each day.
Actually, I know that time is my most precious asset. If used
correctly, it is like money in the bank. I must spend it under
strict self-discipline. One of the easiest ways to do this is to
schedule my time use for the next twenty-four hours, and stick to
that chart. Unfortunately for me, easier said than
done.
It is generally accepted in
the world of business that advertising exerts considerable
influence on the buying public, and that clever advertisements
influence different kinds of people in different subtle ways. Every
day, on TV, at bus-stops, in the street, you can notice
advertisements. The advertisers try to make you believe that
you need them, not that they need you. Whenever advertisers want
you to stop thinking about the product and to start thinking about
something bigger, better, or more attractive than the product, they
use that very popular word “like.” The word “like” is the adviser’s
equivalent of the magician’s use of misdirection. “Like” gets you
to ignore the product and concentrate on the claim the advertiser
is making about it. “For skin like cream” claims the ad for a skin
cream. The ad wants you to think this cream will give you soft,
smooth, and youthf
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
I haven't updated my blog for a long time.
Recently I spent my strength without doing anything useful. Now I
have made order out of the anarchy of my heart. Today I want to
talk about opinion. People like to give their opinions on
everything. Respect for other’s opinions is universal. However,
some people I know who prejudge sometimes even disregard----a
speaker based on his appearance or delivery. They let personal
ideas, emotions or prejudices distort what a person has to say.
Sometimes, what is more, they even want to force their own views
onto others. They are also, incidentally, unforgivable bores. For
me, I always respect people who see opinions in their right
perspective.
Jiaozi , a kind of dumpling, is a favourite food of
Chinese people. It is usually a semicircular wheaten food with
stuffing. In most areas of China, jiaozi is made when people
celebrate the Spring Festival or other festivals and entertain
relatives and friends. Jiaozi dates back many centuries. It
originated in the Yellow River valley where wheat was grown.

These days, Internet shopping is very popular, and many
people really enjoy this kind of shopping. In my opinion, Internet
shopping can save you a lot of time and energy. If you shop in the
traditional way, you may have to run all around the city and turn
all the shops upside down just for one special article. It may also
cost you a whole morning and you may feel exhausted at the end of
the day. However, if you do your shopping on the internet, you can
simply key in a few words and with a click of the mouse, you order
is off and you wait for your merchandise to be delivered to you.
Internet shopping is much more convenient than traditional
shopping. It can be hard for you to find something you need, for it
may be tucked away in a corner of a shop. Yet on the Internet, you
can just search for the merchandise you need, and receive the
result a second later.
I’ve heard a lot recently about cooking at
table side. They say it is a new dining trend. What is it? In fact,
a new diet trend has been brewing all over the world, which
manifests the following three noticeable phenomena. First, the
number of vegetarians is on the rise, but only a small portion of
them nowadays stick to it for religious purposes, which is quite
different from the past. Second, the idea of 'less sugar, less
salt, less oil' has become mainstream in the culinary industry, and
finally, 'fusion cuisine', a mixture of oriental and western food,
has also gained popularity among the trendy. The recent transition
in eating habits started with people's growing concern over their
health, and will probably turn into a thriving business in the near
future.
Over half people in the modern world have
been used to living against a background of noise, even constant
noise. These is the noise of traffic in the street-engine noises,
car alarms, the screaming of tyres and brakes, lawn mowers whining
on a summer’s day and so on. Even at home where labour-saving
devices have made life so much easier for many people, some of
comfort has been at the expense of noise-washing machines, vacuum
cleaners, air conditioners and dishwashers; they make a noise, even
if manufacturers try to tell us sometimes that their machines are
“silent”! And even in the countryside, there are always vehicles of
all kinds, especially large container trucks thundering through
quiet villages, planes flying overhead. Now we can say that in our
modern industrial society, nowhere is free from noise. In towns and
cities, particularly, the problem is becoming acuter and acuter.

The recent heatwave has prevented residents
from sleeping, which may account for the
popularity of exercise parks in residential communities. Fresh air
and exercise are beneficial for us. Children have sought out
amusement in the small gardens. Throngs of little kids come to
snatch their favourite activities after supper. Those who mount the
equipment play contently while others wait enviously. The favourite
activity is the seesaw, the ups and downs especially fun for them.
Some young people seem to be enthusiastic about sports for the
purpose of losing weight or strengthening their muscles. For
seniors, the main purpose of exercising is to

There are many kinds of plants in nature, like
flowers and trees and grass. But all of them, I like flowers best.
There are yellow ones like gold and red ones. They are very
delicate and very beautiful. And white ones are like snow and
