​电影《死亡诗社》有这么一个句子：

We don’t read and write  poetry because it is cute. We read and write  poetry because we are members of human race.

大家第一次读到这个句子的时候，不知道会不会觉得有些奇怪，按照字面意思，会理解成：我们不读诗和写诗，是因为它美妙。但这里面涉及到because的否定转移，把对because的否定放在了主句上，实际应该是这样的：we read and write poetry not because it is cute.所以，这句话的意思是这样的：

​在《老友记》里也有这样的一个句子，钱德勒对莫妮卡说：I don't love you because you're organized, I love you in spite of that.

意思是：我爱你并不是因为你井井有条，尽管你这样（因为莫妮卡有强迫症），我还是爱你！

大学高级英语教程里，有一篇文章《Why I teach》,里面有这么一个句子：

I don't teach because teaching is easy for me. Teaching is the most difficult of the various ways I have attempted to earn my living. Nor do I teach because I think I know answers. 

意思：我教书并不是因为教书对我来说是容易的。教书是我尝试去谋生的各种方式中，最难的一种。我教书也不是因为我知道答案。

2014年上海高考英语完形填空中，也出现了这样的语言考点：

We don‘t spend two-thirds of our time gossiping just because we can talk, argues Dunbar— on the contrary, he goes on to say, language evolved specifically to allow us to gossip. 

我们花三分之二的时间闲聊，并不仅是因为我们可以说话，相反，语言的进化就是为了让我们能够闲聊。
