We made pita bread today. They are small, to
encourage people to try them. Again, if you are
planning a party or special meal just for yourself, call me and I
can make pita for you.
The granola bars turned out pretty good. I
am pricing them very low, again to encourage people to try them
out. They are crunchy, similar to Nature Valley
bars. These are flavored with hazelnut and
chocolate bits, and for wholesome nutrition they have sesame seeds,
sunflower seeds, and wheat germ. Along with the
oats, these will give you sustained energy. For
quick energy, they are held together with honey, butter and brown
sugar.
Some of my regular Chinese customers, perhaps braver than
most, tried out the quiche. I needed to sample
it, too, to see how it worked with the new crust recipe.
Yum! Both pies are gone.
The sourdough flax seed bread is still here, if you think you
might like to try it. This kind of bread only
gets better with age, so I'm keeping it on the shelf longer than
the sandwich breads. I've never eaten this type
of bread before, to the best of my knowledge. I
made a 3 oz loaf for myself, to sample. It is
marvelous! Just a couple of hours out of the oven
the sourness was strong. A few hours later, that
had mellowed, and new flavors came through. Wish
my little sample had lasted longer.
Did I forget to mention the rum raisin muffins?
Oh my. Not muffins flavored
with an extract. No, I soaked the raisins in
Captain Morgan's rum overnight. There are still a
few left, if you get time to come down.
See you at the bakery. Grandma
