【教材分析】
本课是冀教版教材九年级上册第四单元第二课,本单元的话题是“Stories andpoems”。对英文诗这一话题,学生们学习感觉有些困难。“Lesson 20 Say It in Five展示了三首英文五行诗,通过本课的学习,学生需要认识理解五行诗,学会如何写英文五行诗。同时,培养学生独立思考、归纳总结、解决问题的能力,从而树立学生英语学习的自信心。
【学情分析】
   我校是全县生源最差学校之一,本学期九年级设立了一个重点班和两个差班,本班是差班。全班学生英语基础差,部分学生书写潦草,英语学习缺乏自信心,甚至有放弃英语学习的想法。班里留守儿童较多,英语学习主要靠课内学校完成,课后英语学习难以继续延伸。
【教学目标】
语言知识目标:掌握与五行诗相关的词汇及表达:poem , poet, line ,
            a set number of, topic, another two , express .
语言技能目标:让学生理解掌握如何写英语五行诗,训练学生的听 
             说读写及语言的综合运用表达能力。
情感态度目标:引导激发学生写英文诗的兴趣,课堂获得成就感,  
             从而树立英语学习的自信心。
  
【教学重点】
1. 掌握本课的重点单词和短语:poem , poet, single, topic, create
   state ,express, a type of… aset number of... five-line poem , another two.
2. 激发学生的学习兴趣,培养学生的学习能力。
【教学难点】
1.重点句型的掌握:
1)Each line has a set number of words.
2)This style was created in the 19th century by an Americanpoet.
3)Let’s look at another two five-line poems as examples.
4)In four words, express a thought and a feeling ,use any type ofwords.
2. 引导学生掌握写英语五行诗的方法
【教学方法】
任务教学法、情景交际法、小组合作法

【教学过程】
Step1:Lead-in
1Play a game “ sit down” and “ stand up ” again and again to warmup, and “ take out hands ” to welcome Mr. Wang from XianYang.
2Guide into the new lesson : Show a picture of an old Chinese poem,and then have a free talk.
what poem is it?  Who can recite it?
T:How many lines ? S: Four lines .
T: How many words are there in each line? S: Seven words.
T: Yes, Each line has a set number of words. It has four lines ,weoften say it in four . Today let’s learn another type / kind ofpoem ---- five-line poem, we often say it in five.
(设计意图:游戏的设置一方面为了缓解学生的紧张情绪,吸引学生注意力。另一方面让学生养成认真听开口说的好习惯。这一张张“奖Prize ”就是学生一节课课堂表现的最大奖励,不但回答问题有奖品,认真倾听也有奖品:同学回答问题对了,全班学生大声重复是对同学最大的掌声,当同学回答有误时,其他同学立刻举手帮其改正,也会获得奖品。这样会调动每个学生的学习积极性,并吸引课堂注意力。)
Step 2 Reading
Task1: Fast reading .
1 Show a five – line poem “ computer” on the screen, let the students to enjoy it. Then ask students to read Part1 of the text quickly  and Write true(T) or False( F)。
2 Check their answers: ask students“ how do you knowthe answer? ”Encourage them to show the right position of the answer from the text,  If it’s false , ask students to correct the mistakes.                        
(设计意图:设置任务型阅读,让学生通过快速阅读课文第一部分,对五行诗有所了解;通过检查答案,更深层次地学习掌握文章的语言知识和英语五行诗,同时让学生学会有效信息的对应与处理,重在培养学生的分析判断及阅读能力。)
Task 2 Careful reading
1After fast reading , students have known what five-line poem is.Then ask: Can you write a five- line poem ?Do you want to write it?Let’s enjoy another two poems . Read Part2 carefully , you can write your own five- line poem.
2 Let students read the Part 2 carefully , After they finish reading the text, let them find out how to write each line of five-line poem. If they are not sure about the answers, they can have a discussion with their group members. Then ask them to share and check their answers. According to the answers to the questions,lead students to retell the text “ how to write a five- line poem”
(设计意图:在学生认识掌握了五行诗的基础上,让学生欣赏朗读另两首五行诗,激发学生写英文诗的兴趣,再仔细阅读课文第二部分,通过回答问题,进一步学习掌握如何写英语五行诗和相关的语言知识,最后根据关键词复述“how to write a five-line poem”,对课文内容加以巩固。)
Task 3 Read for feelings
Read again ,and ask students :“ What do you think of five- linepoem ? ”
(设计意图:在学生掌握了五行诗并会写五行诗的基础上,让学生再次体会五行诗,谈感受,激发写作兴趣,为下一步的写作练习做好铺垫)
Step 3 Group-work:
  Showed all kinds of words on the screen , guidethe class to write a five – line poem together with the ways theyget. And then Work in groups, ask them to choose words andwrite  a five –line poem. Share their poem withclassmates, then show it to class. At last, choose the bestgroup.
(设计意图:老师带领学生,掌握写诗技巧,运用所学知识写五行诗,起到课堂示范作用。再让学生走出课本,联系生活,写出自己的英语五行诗,组内交流与合作,人人争当诗人,达到锻炼学生的口语表达、人际交流、归纳总结、逻辑思维等能力。通过前期的知识储备和文本解读,本课的落脚点落在写作上,让学生以英文五行诗的形式展示自己本课所学,锻炼学生的写作能力。)
  
Step4: Summary:
Guide students to Summarize what the five line is and how to writeit through the blackboard design , and pay more attention to thewords and expressions about five – line poem .Encourage students:
Now you are all poets ,  work hard , and you willfind it’s easy to learn English. Believe in yourself ! Try yourbest ! You will get it !
(设计意图:以板书设计为线索,通过总结五行诗及创作五行诗的方法,让学生欣赏自己的五行诗,学生作为诗人体会到了英语学习的乐趣,获得成就感,从而树立英语学习的自信心,达到情感教育的目的。)
Step5: Homework:
Create two five – line poems , and write them down .
