5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I've been looking for, August 5, 2006

By A. White "drted" (USA) - See all my reviews

The knots in my back - my "spots" never really go away due to posture and my work in front of the computer. One day I asked a coworker what the odd green thing by his desk was. He explained the concept, I tried it for about two seconds and immediately knew this was something special. The leverage is perfect for zeroing in on your back knots and applying STRONG pressure to them - like having a strong friend digging their knuckle in and holding it there. I bought one the next day. You don't need an expensive vibrating massage wand that has all sorts of silly features - just this simple stick that can pinpoint and dissolve all your stress spots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product!, August 2, 2006

I'm only thirty, but I do hard work out on my farm as well as swimming. I was getting tight, knotted muscles in my back and shoulders that were restricting my movement and dully hurt. I'm single, though, so had no good way to get them out. I was looking for something to help when I came across these reviews and decided to buy a Theracane for myself. Oh, is it wonderful! It's very easy to use and easily got out all the knots in my muscles. Right after it was delivered, I spent about 30 minutes gently working the knots out of my shoulders and back while I watched TV. That felt so wonderful, so I worked the last knots out of my shoulders a little bit later that day. It felt so good to be free of stiffness and pain! I felt like I was fifteen again. I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!, July 15, 2006

By Melissa (Germany) - See all my reviews

This worked much better than I predicted. Since my brain/spinal cord surgery, I have pain especially in my shoulders. I've been using the Thera Cane the past month to smooth out those chronically-sore muscles and it has really helped. I'm buying another one for my parents. I also just purchased the DVD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Massage yourself, July 10, 2006

By Arthritic Wife (Iowa) - See all my reviews

I bought this for my husband because he was always trying to rub his own shoulder and back. I have arthritis in my hands, so I can't massage him very well, so the theracane enables him to massage his back and shoulder knots himself. He loves it!

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS THING IS AWESOMO, July 1, 2006

By Jason Kaiser - See all my reviews

I can't believe this thing. People who saw it laughed at me and said it looks a plant hanger. Maybe it does, but wholy crap--it gets deep...real deep and allows me to massage every single spot on my back and crack everything. It works harder than any massage therapist I've been to. I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. No joke. This was the best $30 I have ever spent. If you got back problems (and who doesn't), you cannot beat this thing. My pain management dr. showed it 2 me because I asked him if there was anything I could do except pop the Oxycontin. I ordered it from Amazon..had it 3 days later. I can't say enough good about it. Get it--you will not be sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish I could give it 10 stars!, June 29, 2006

By K. Prueitt (Orlando, FL United States) - See all my reviews

This device is incredible. It would seriously be worth 5 times the price, in my opinion. When I get stressed at work, I sit hunched over and get very tense. This causes pain in my neck, side, back, and hip. I used to need painkillers to get through the day, but not now! A few minutes using the Thera Cane relaxes my muscles enough to relieve the pain significantly. One warning - I do find it painful to massage my muscles deep enough to relax them. Some people might find this to be a negative. For me, it's worth a few minutes of pain for the end result. It is the only thing I've found to relieve my pain. Wonderful product!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I May Have to buy my Hubby another Gift, June 9, 2006

By April M. Blake "Mommy of Twin Boys" (Lima, Ohio) - See all my reviews

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Yes, I am stealing this from my Hubby. I bought this as a gift for my husband. He has to beg me to use it because I always have it. It gives the best massage, one can get right to the spot that is aching. You have control on how much pressure is needed or wanted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Theracane--Saving my Back, February 11, 2007

By Nicole M. Saint-louis "Nicolema" (Philadelphia, Pa) - See all my reviews

I have been having severe back pain (muscular)and subsequent headaches on a daily basis for many months. I finally brokedown and went to see one of my colleagues who is a physiatrist. He recommended the theracane to me. He is a physician who is both a DC, (Doctor of Chiropractic) and a physician, DO. This physician has been doing trigger point therapy including intramuscular needling to help release the painful knots in my back. I find that I can use the theracane in between visits with noted relief. This same doctor states that this condition is like diabetes and needs to be managed for life and thus, the theracane allows for me to maintain. I think the theracane is an ingenious invention. I don't really have anything negative to say, with the exception of the pain I am trying to manage. The product arrived quickly after I ordered it and it is exactly as described.

5.0 out of 5 stars love, Love, LOVE this thing!, January 9, 2007

By IceSiren (Denver, CO) - See all my reviews

I usually will not take the time to review items, but I HAD to make the exception for the Theracane. This is one of the best things I have bought myself and it has been affectionately dubbed "the boyfriend" due to the amount of timne I spend with it. Getting your mind out of the gutter, I could barely move when I purchased this. I had prior experience with a similar device years ago. One of my friends had been given by our NFL team and I loved it and wanted one, but never had gotten around to getting it.
Enter high stress job where I travel every weekend. Sitting on a plane hours at a time and sleeping in different 4 different beds 12 nights a month started wreaking havoc on my body. Not to mention, I'm fairly intense to begin with. I love this thing because I can get in there and use as much pressure as I am comfortable with. I like hard pressure and most massage therapists can't get in the muscle like I can with the Theracane. After about a week of 3 times a day with the Theracane and the use of the Trigger Point therapy book, I felt like a new person. My back and shoulders relaxed, I found places on my legs and arms that were very painful and with some work, I now move more freely.
The cane is very sturdy, I'm sure one could break it, but it would take some effort. I have knocked myself upside the head with it while trying out different ways of using it, as it is a bit awkward. However, there is a little booklet that comes with it that gives you ideas.
I use it working at the computer, watching TV, after the gym, on the road (it will fit in a 25" rolling suitcase at a diagonal angle.) My real boyfriend uses it as he does not like strong pressure and can use as little as he likes, my work partner has also purchased on after my rave reviews of it and I will most likely have it with me when I visit family and get them hooked on it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars great tension reliever, January 5, 2007

By Maureen OMara (Sidney, MT) - See all my reviews

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Unfortunately I lost my original TheraCane during a move and the knots in my shoulders and back soon built up again. Having moved to a small, rural community this product was not available locally so I went online. Very happy to have this item again in my house and was very pleased with the speediness of the delivery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! I've had one for years now...., December 3, 2006

By George Thompson "George Thompson" (Virginia) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Thera Cane Massager (Sports)

I bought this exact model years ago. It virtually can't break, it's so well made, it's small enough to pack and travel with me, and well worth the price.

If my legs or arms are sore, I can massage them or take a hot bath, but if my back is sore, this massager can reach any point on my back. There's no moving parts or batteries to wear down....my daughter uses it, too.

It came with an instructional booklet. You can hold one of the round knobs on one trigger point in the muscle for a few seconds, or use it to go back and forth over an area to release the tension. If you don't like putting on a lot of massage oil (too sticky and messy) you can wear a thin t-shirt type material on your back, and the massager will glide over the muscles.

I really believe in the power of massaging muscles in order to increase the flow of blood and oxygen to a muscle, and this really does the trick! I think you'll love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!, August 21, 2006

By Lisa Guinn "lisle_g" (Cupertino, CA USA) - See all my reviews

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I have had a number of surgeries and injuries over the years. I see a chiropracter and a physical therapist every few weeks. Both of them work wonders, but then my body tightens up. I can't afford to see them every day! I bought the theracane because I saw someone else with one at a long distance cycling event. Now I've purchased another 3 to share with friends.
It works! This tool has helped me stay loose, and has taken away a lot of the shoulder stiffness that I have suffered for the past 7 years. I suggest the addition of the trigger point therapy workbook, which will give you a lot of the details about the body and why/where it hurts. But even if you don't want to study, you can still get lots of benefits from daily use of the theracane!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought it because of the reviews; will use it because it works!, May 9, 2007

By Lisa Schaller - See all my reviews

This is Lisa's husband, Jeff. Lisa bought this Theracane for me recently, and I just had to drop in another rave review.Like some the other reviewers here, I bought this because of the high customer ratings. I sit at a computer for 8 or more hours a day, and I think the arms-in-front position causes some of my back muscles to get stretched out, and thus sore.
I've tried several products to get relief: heat pads (not as good as a hot shower), massaging wands (have to lay on it to get enough pressure), rolling shiatsu massager (fixed positions of the rollers mean I can't get the pressure where I want), massage therapists (perfect therapy, but expensive!), and cajoling my wife into rubbing the sore spots. My wife heard my interest in this cane because it's something I can do for myself any time and massage exactly the spots I want with the pressure I want.
I admit to playing with the Theracane for a while before reading the accompanying manual. The manual is a definite bonus because it comes up with ways to massage everything from your neck on down! Getting a "cane" for my birthday made me feel a little older, but as those sore spots tend to stick around a little longer, now, this will definitely help speed up the recovery!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Thera Cane, May 9, 2007

By P. Kampen (Seaford, DE United States) - See all my reviews

I recently purchased a Thera Cane and am happy with it. It is sturdily built and is great for digging into the knots in my shoulders and back. With the Thera Cane, you control the amount of pressure applied to your sore muscles.
