The UK is unconditionally committed to the defence and security of Europe, Prime Minister Theresa May will say. Mrs May is in the Estonian capital Tallinn for an informal meeting of European Union leaders. She will visit 800 British soldiers who have been based in Tapa since April as part of a Nato battlegroup with French and Estonian troops while in Estonia. Mrs May will also attend the Tallinn digital summit, where she will call for greater co-operation on cyber threats. At the summit, the prime minister will offer to share UK expertise from the National Cyber Security Centre to combat cyber threats.

Islamic State militants have released what appears to be an audio recording of their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. A speaker who sounds like the IS leader seems to refer to recent North Korean threats against Japan and the US. He also talks of battles for IS strongholds like Mosul, which was regained by Iraqi forces in July. Baghdadi, who has a $25m (£19m) US bounty on his head, has not been seen in public since July 2014, leading to much speculation about his fate.

China has told North Korean companies operating in its territory to close down as it implements United Nations sanctions against the reclusive state. The companies will be shut by early January. Joint Chinese and North Korean ventures will also be forced to close. China, Pyongyang's only major ally, has already banned textile trade and limited oil exports. The move is part of an international response to North Korea's sixth and most powerful nuclear test.

Ryanair has been told to correct its compensation policy for passengers by Friday afternoon after thousands of its flights were cancelled. The UK's Civil Aviation Authority says the airline must stop misleading passengers about the option to be re-routed with another airline. The regulator has ordered the budget airline to say publicly how it will re-route passengers who require it. Ryanair must also say how it will reimburse their out-of-pocket expenses.

Tired of having to build your Ikea Billy bookshelves yourself? The Swedish furniture giant's latest purchase means it will be easier to get someone else to do it for you, as long as you are willing to pay. The firm is buying US start-up firm TaskRabbit, which allows users to hire people to help them assemble furniture as well as a host of other chores like house cleaning or lawn mowing. The deal follows a trial of TaskRabbit in London's Ikea stores last November.

The US economy grew even faster in the second quarter than previously thought, new figures have indicated. The Commerce Department said it grew at a 3.1% annual rate over the three months to the end of June, up from a previous estimate of 3%, which was itself revised up from an initial 2.6%. The further upward revision came as a surprise to analysts, who had it expected it to stay the same. Higher consumer spending, helped boost the figure, as did state expenditure. The US economy is now growing at the fastest rate in two years.

A set of jargon-busting guides that teach children about their rights on social media sites has been published. Children's Commissioner Anne Longfield said Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp and YouTube had "not done enough" to clarify their policies. She simplified the websites' terms and conditions with privacy law firm Schillings. But Instagram said the simplified version of its terms contained "a number of inaccuracies".

Social media site Twitter is trialling longer character limits to help users "easily express themselves". Twitter currently limits tweets to 140 characters, but has doubled that to 280 characters for a small group of users. The current character limit was "a major cause of frustration" for some users, the firm said in a blog post. The firm has been suffering from slowing growth and the shift could be one way for the firm to widen its appeal and attract new users.
