Dear teachers,
Whenever it’s near the time for the Year 12 students to take the examination, we can always hear news from the newspapers or TV that some boys or girls commit suicide. They may choose to cut their artery or simply jump out of the window from a tall building. What an awful thing!
Parents and teachers pay so much attention to this examination that they ignore the fact that many students at this age can not bear such burden both mentally and physically. And as we know, the examination is organized and managed with strict rules and procedures. If a student is a few minutes late for the exam due to some unexpected or uncontrolled reasons, he or she will be prohibited from entering the examination room, let alone to enter a college, then all the hard work during the past three years become fruitless.

My View on the College Entrance Examination
Dear respected teachers,
The College Entrance Examination in China is very important for every high school students but its system must be improved.
As we know, China has the largest population in the world. At present, it is impossible for every student to get the opportunity to go to college. Through the relatively fair examination, some will enter universities successfully, while the others will have to accept the fact of being refused by universities. This is the first challenge for each of them.
What’s more, the examination neglects testing the nature of a student and their daily grade. Which leads many students only to know how to study and practise more exercises about maths, English and so on. They do little to strengthen their body, to cultivate their personality and to develop their independent thinking. However, the society doesn’t need a bookworm. It needs a creative person who has a kind of mind called “think outside of a box”.
Luckily, the government and the whole country are thinking
about how to change the rules of this examination. I hope,
universities can take high school students’ daily life into
consideration when choosing the candidates and give them some
points. When universities enroll a student, they should first pay
attention to his qualities, what progress he has made in the past
and then look at his final score.
To sum up, the College Entrance Examination can not merely test the students’ knowledge, it should also think about their qualities, such as critical thinking, the ability to be creative and so on.

Nowadays, many high school students give up the College Entrance Examination in China. Instead, they go abroad to study in universities. However, why do so many students give up the exam? What factors influence their choices?
In the recent years, our country develops very fast. A number of families have enough money to support their children to receive further education. They hope their own children can be competitive in the future. Parents think the study in foreign countries may give their children a good stage to show themselves. They can receive not only knowledge but also experience. But in China, it is really different from others. It’s hard to say whether the exam is good or not.
On one hand, by taking the exam we can know some problems we still have. There is no prefect person in the world. But we can correct our mistakes and try to be perfect.
There are also some disadvantages. Students just focus on the knowledge which will be tested in the exam. Teachers will not teach them other things. I don’t think it is true. In my opinion, it is a very complex society. We should learn lots of things, not just the knowledge. We need to learn how to make friends with others; we also need to know how to work as a team…. I think to be a good teacher is not only teaching a student who has high scores in the exam, but also has good qualities. It is more important than the scores.
Above are my opinions. The College Entrance Examination is a function to explore how you study. It can’t be a function to decide whether you are a good student or not. It can’t decide your life too.

Nowadays, the College Entrance Examination in China is not the only way for many students now. Going abroad or starting his own business after graduation from high school is also a good choice for many people. Some people consist that the College Entrance Examination is a very important exam which can make a teenager become more mature and it is also a stage for every student to show their knowledge and abilities. But the others think that the College Entrance Examination is just a test which can not show everything. I agree with the second one.
Secondly, there are some mistakes in Chinese Education. It is just an examination-oriented education. The students trained by the teachers are like test-taking machines without their own ideas. It is really foolish. An excellent student should have his own ideas and international abilities. It is the most important quality. Then they will easily take part in the world activities. Compared with other countries’ education, China’s education is really lagging behind. I think if we
Chinese want to train many excellent people, we should change the institution first.
Dear teachers,
China has over 1.3 billion people. Not all the senior high school graduates can go to University. If we start the policy like other countries, it will not work. So the College Entrance Examination is still suitable for us. Do not complain of it. If the society does not accommodate you, you should suit it by working hard. So, what we can do is to improve the College Entrance Examination system. I have some suggestions about it.
Firstly, we can not change the way of the exam because there are too many people in China. We can just decrease the difficulty of the examination.
