①本句中it是形式主语,真正的主语是to learn another language,句子使用了It's+形容词+to do sth.的句型,在这种句型中,it是形式主语,动词不定式短语是真正的主语。因为主语太长。为了使句子保持平衡,英语句子习惯上把真正的主语放到后面,这样就避免了句子的表达虎头蛇尾。

  例如:It's difficult for me to learn English well.

  学好英语对我来说很难。在此句中形容词后面加进了一个for sb.(对于某人来说)。

  It's very important for us to learn to use computers.

  学习使用电脑对我们来说很重要。

  It's dangerous for children to play with fire.

  玩火对孩子们来说是危险的。

  ②本句中are from意为“来自”,英语中常用be from这一短语表达“来自……”或“从……来”,come from也可表达相同的意思。但由于be是系动词,而come是行为动词,二者在使用上有一定的区别,需引起注意。

  例如:Bruce is from Australia.=Bruce comes from Australia.

  布鲁斯来自澳大利亚。

  Is Wei Hua from Hebei? =Does Wei Hua come from Hebei?

  魏华是来自河北吗?

  Was Li Lei from Shijiazhuang? =Did Li Lei come from Shijiazhuang?

  李雷是从石家庄来的吗?

  I'm not from Japan.=I don't come from Japan.

  我不是从日本来的。

  ③本句使用了need to do sth.(需要做某事)的表达,need后面接不定式时,不定式动词是主语的另一动作。

  例如:You need to work harder.你需要再努力些。

  Do you think I need to go to the meeting?

  你认为我有必要去参加会议吗?

  The children needed to climb up the ladders to pick the apples.

  为了摘苹果,孩子们需要爬到梯子上去。

  拓展:need作为情态动词通常用于否定句及疑问句中,无时态、人称变化,后面直接跟动词原形。

  例如:You needn't worry.你不必着急。

  So I needn't be there,need I? 这么说,我就不必去那儿了,是吗?

  如果need后面的动词与句子的主语具有逻辑上的动宾关系,则这一动词应用动词-ing形式。即need doing sth.

  例如:Your plan needs changing a bit.你的计划需要稍作修改。

  The radio needs repairing.这台收音机需要修理。

  ④way在本句意为“办法”,“方法”。 ⑤本句使用的是现在完成时态,但其用法与Section A中出现的现在完成时态的句子用法不同,这是现在完成时的另一种用法,即表示过去已经开始,持续到现在的动作或状态,可以和表示从过去某一时刻延续到现在的一段时间状语连用。

  例如:We have lived here for ten years.我们住在这儿十年了。

  Mr Wu has worked in this school for five years.

  吴先生在这个学校工作五年了。

  We have known since three years ago.我们自从三年前就熟悉了。

  拓展:for与since的区别

  for和表示一段时间的词、词组连用;而since和表示过去某一时刻的词、词组或句子连用。

  例如:He has been away for a long time.他已经离开好久了。

  She has been like this since last night.她从昨晚起就是这样了。

  They have studied English since they were eight.

  他们从八岁起就开始学英语了。

  现在完成时的这种用法,一般要用延续性(或称持续性)动词,不能使用非延续性动词。试比较:

  ⑥how long是问到目前为止已有“多久”,“多长时间”,夸大到现在为止的结果,故句中谓语动词应用延续性动词的现在完成时。对于how long问句,可回答for two days,about two weeks,since last Monday,Since we last met等表达一段时间的短语或句子,因此类似这样的短语或从句在句中作状语时,句中的谓语动词常用现在完成时态。

  例如:How long have you had the car? 你买了这辆车多久了?

  (注意:此句不能问How long have you bought the care?因为bought意为“买”、为非延续性动词,不能与一段时间的状语how long连用。)

  He has kept the book for one week.他保存(借)这本书一周了。

  How long have you been here? 你来这儿多久了?

  除了现在完成时外,how long提问的句子还常使用现在完成进行时,

  例如:How long have you been studying here? 你在这儿学习多长时间了?

  ⑦think about后可接一个名词、代词、动词-ing形式或由疑问词引导的不定式或宾语从句,作“考虑”解。

  例如:I'm thinking about a problem.我正在考虑一个问题。

  She carefully thought about what I said.

  她仔细考虑了一下我所说的话。

  而think of后面可接名词、代词、动词-ing形式或疑问词引导的从句,在不同的语境中有不同的意思。

  think of表示考虑;关心。

  例如:I have many things to think of.我有许多事要考虑。

  think of表示想起;记得。

  例如:Who first thought of that idea? 谁先想到那个主意?

  think of表示想一想;想象。

  例如:Think of the past.想想过去。

  think of表示有……的看法;认为。

  例如:What do you think of it? 你认为这事怎么样?
