（2014年6月30日，/中国青年报/）据《中国青年报》最新报道，中国上班族过度劳累的问题正日趋普遍，每年中国有近60万人因过劳死而离世。而据中国国际广播电台报道，每一天中国就有1,600名上班族过劳死。通常，中国白领的起薪要比蓝领工人高出一倍，但却要在每天8个小时的工作之外继续加班。总部位于香港的中国劳工通讯的发言人杰弗里•克洛斯表示，加班时长会违反《劳动法》的规定。美国坦普尔大学亚洲研究中心主任杰夫•金斯顿表示：“中国仍然是上升的经济体，人们信奉勤奋工作的精神。不同于欧美国家的企业体系，中国、韩国和日本等儒家文化国家存在完全奉献的理念。人们认为如果一份工作值得去做，自己就要倾尽全力，导致过度劳累。”

(Jun. 30, 2014,/HRoot.com/) An estimated 600,000 Chinese workers die every year from working too hard, according to figures from China Youth Daily. China Radio International in April this year estimated the figure at 1,600 every day, reports businessweek.com. In China, such deaths are known as karoshi. The message, however, hasn’t gotten through to China’s white-collar warriors. In exchange for starting salaries, which are typically double blue-collar pay, they put in hours of overtime on top of eight-hour workdays, often in violation of Chinese labour law, according to Geoffrey Crothall, spokesman for Hong Kong-based labour-advocacy group, the China Labour Bulletin. Jeff Kingston, Director of Asian Studies at the Japan campus of Temple University in Tokyo, commented: “China is still a rising economy, and people are still buying into that hardworking ethos. More than in the Anglo-American corporate system, in Korea, China and Japan, the countries of the Confucian belt, there’s a belief in total dedication. Any job worth doing is worth doing excessively.”
