我一直想对Kevin说声谢谢，但又觉得不足以表达心中的想法，所以就在这篇博文里说一说吧。
    Kevin(王阔)，我的英文老师，（他长的很帅哦，讲课时很风趣，但作风很严格！）他毕业于北外，并在美国威斯康星大学拿到工商管理硕士和社会工作学两个硕士学位。他在国外工作多年，十分熟悉美国文化，能有Kevin这么出色的英语培训专家做我的赛前培训老师，我觉得真的很幸运。他帮我准备了很多资料，每天抽出宝贵的时间为我上课，尽量把所有的国际经验和我分享。我想这不但对我赴美参加环姐大赛有极大帮助，对我今后都会有很大帮助。

    Kevin帮我准备了很多比赛和交流的问题帮我“恶补”，比如下面这些英文都非常有意思：

1.What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?（同其他选手相比，你有什么与众不同之处？）

Suggested answer: I am from China. China has the biggest population in the world with 1.3 billion people, around 20% of the world’s total population. I am very lucky to have support from the largest number of people on earth. That gives me a major advantage and makes me unique from all other contestants.

参考答案：我来自中国。中国有13亿人，是世界上人口最多的国家，占世界总人口约20%。我非常幸运能得到最多人的支持。这是我的一大优势，也是我与其他选手的最大不同之处。

2.In many countries, women have to give up their career after having babies. If you have a baby, what do you do with your career?（在很多国家，女性一旦有了孩子就必须放弃事业。如果你有孩子，你将如何安排自己的事业？）

Suggested answer: Independence is very important to women. Having a career is part of being independent. If I have a baby, I will try to balance career with family. There are many good examples among my friends in this regard, and I am sure I can be one of them. I also believe my future husband will support me with the decision.

参考答案：独立对女性至关重要。事业帮助女性保持独立。如果我有了孩子，我会努力平衡我的事业与家庭。在这个方面有很多不错的榜样。我相信我也能成为她们其中的一员。我也相信我未来的先生也一定会支持我的决定。

3.If you are asked to pose nude in a movie, how do you feel about it? Would you do it?（如果有人要你在电影里出演裸露镜头，你怎么想？你会这样做吗？）

Suggested answer: A human body can be a natural and beautiful thing, but it has to be shown in an appropriate manner. If it is legal, necessary and appropriate to have nudity in a movie, and the nudity is handled in a beautiful, artistic and tasteful way, I may consider doing it, hopefully to make the movie better and people would enjoy it more. There are many great actresses who have done that for the sake of art. I appreciate that.

参考答案：人体可以是非常自然美丽的，但是应该用合适的方式来展示。如果电影里的裸露镜头合法、必要和适当，而且裸露镜头非常漂亮、艺术和有品位，我会考虑的。而且这样的镜头应当使电影更上一层楼，观众也会更加喜欢。有很多伟大的女演员为了艺术都做过类似的事情。我对此表示欣赏。

4.In today’s world, when people become famous, they lose their privacy. How do you look at this?（当今世界，出名就意味着失去隐私。你如何看待这个问题？）

Suggested answer: You win some. You lose some. I think that is just part of life. We get a lot from being famous, but we lose out privacy. That is the price we have to pay for being famous. I believe being famous means we can use our influence to help more people. If that is the case, it is OK to lose our privacy, and it’s worth the price.

参考答案：鱼和熊掌不可兼得。这就是人生。因为出名，我们可能获得很多，也会失去隐私，这是出名需要付出的代价。我相信出名意味着我们可以利用自己的影响帮助更多人。如果这样，失去隐私也可以，这个代价值得付出。

5.In some countries, people eat all kinds of animals such as sharks, dolphins etc. How do you look at this?（在一些国家，人们食用各种动物，包括鲨鱼、海豚等，你如何看待这个问题？）

Suggested answer: Animals are important creatures on the earth, and they are friends to people. I believe people should try to live in harmony with the animals. Sharks, dolphins and many other animals are beautiful and lovely and we should do our best to protect them. I don’t eat shark fins, and many of my friends also support me in this initiative. I want to raise the awareness among people to save the animals on earth from extinction.

参考答案：动物对地球至关重要。他们是人类的朋友。我认为人类需要与动物和平相处。鲨鱼、海豚和其他很多动物都很美丽、可爱，我们应该努力保护他们。我本人就不吃鱼翅，我的朋友们也支持我的行动。我希望能够让更多人有意识保护动物，拯救地球。

6.Many people think that Miss Universe contestants are beautiful but lack intelligence or wisdom. What do you think? Do you think you have intelligence or wisdom?（很多人认为环球小姐的选手美丽有余，智慧不足。你的看法是什么？你觉得自己有智慧吗？）

Suggested answer: Miss Universe is one of the most famous beauty pageants in the world. The reason is simple. It has very high standards for its contestants. During the last two weeks, I got to know the contestants and I can say all of them are perfect examples of beauty and intelligence. I am proud to be one of them, and I am proud to represent beautiful and intelligent Chinese women in this competition.

参考答案：环球小姐是世界上最著名的选美活动之一。原因很简单。它对选手的要求非常高。在过去的两个星期里，我结识了所有选手。可以说，她们都是美丽与智慧的完美结合。我非常自豪能够成为她们中的一员。我也非常自豪能够代表美丽智慧的中国女性参加这次比赛。

7.In some countries, women are not allowed to wear swimsuits while you are being judged in a swimsuit tonight. How do you feel about this?（在一些国家，女性不允许穿泳装，但是今晚，你们在这里进行泳装展示。对此，你有何感想？）

Suggested answer: I respect cultures and values of different countries. But I think women are beautiful and I am proud to be a woman. Wearing a swimsuit shows how beautiful we are. This is exactly what Miss Universe pageant is all about, beauty. I think everyone appreciates beauty, and we are more than proud to show it to the world.

参考答案：我尊重不同国家的文化和价值观。但是我认为女人非常美丽，作为一个女人我很自豪。泳装展示了我们的美丽。而美丽也恰恰是环球小姐的重要主题。我相信每个人都欣赏美丽，我们也非常自豪的向世界展示出来。

8.Global warming is a challenging issue nowadays. We have too many cars, too many people, and too many buildings. What do you think we should do to protect the earth from getting warmer?（全球变暖给人类带来巨大挑战。我们有太多的车，太多的人，太多的建筑。你认为我们应如何行动，防止地球进一步变暖？）

Suggested answer: Global warming is a serious issue and we must take actions immediately. To give you an example, my hometown, Yichun city in northeast China, a traditionally cool place, just had the hottest summer in history. Personally, I think we can start by taking public transportation instead of driving cars. That will help to reduce gas emission. I like to ride bikes and I enjoy walking. It protects the environment, and it is a good exercise too.

9.Research shows, women’s income are still lower than men’s for the same position and experience. What do you think we should do to change this?（研究表明，即使职位和经验相同，女性的收入仍然低于男性。你认为我们应当如何改变这种情况？）

Suggested answer: It is difficult and takes time, but I think there are two ways to change this. First of all, there must be legislations from the government level protecting women from unfair treatment in salary, benefits etc. Also, women should stand up for ourselves. Traditionally, women are not aware of such unfair treatment. Many choose not to fight for their rights. I think women should be united and fight for the rights we deserve.

参考答案：这非常困难，需要时间。但是我认为有两个办法改变这种状况。首先，必须从政府的层面有相关立法，保护女性在收入、福利等方面的合理待遇。此外，女性应该为自己伸张正义。通常，女性对这种不公平对待不明真相。很多则放弃争取自己的权利。我认为女性应当团结起来，争取我们应得的权利。

10.Same sex marriage is a sensitive issue in many countries whether it is legal or not. How do you look at this? （在很多国家，无论合法与否，同性婚姻都是非常敏感的问题。你如何看待这个问题？）

Suggested answer: I believe everyone has the right to happiness. People get married to enjoy that kind of happiness whether it is between the same sex or not. I understand every country has its own culture, values, and laws, and we should all respect the diversity. Diversity makes the planet earth an interesting place. At the same time, I do respect people’s rights to happiness.

参考答案：我认为每个人都有权利争取幸福。无论是同性婚姻与否，人们结合在一起都是为了追求幸福。我知道每个国家都有自己的文化、价值观和法律，我们都应该尊重这种差异。正是这种差异让世界变得有趣。同时，我也非常尊重人们追求幸福的权利。
