Staff at Swansea Council are being offered a health MoT.

A series of health fairs has been held at County Hall aimed at helping staff improve their wellbeing and boost services for the public.

Various tests including blood pressure, body mass index and lung function checks were offered at the fairs and others like it.

The move is part of the council's ongoing drive to improve employee health and wellbeing and reduce sickness to improve the quality and consistency of services.

The fairs, courtesy of Activa, will take place across a range of venues where council staff are based and include spin bike sessions and health promotion information.

One member of staff to get on his bike and take advantage was chief executive Paul Smith.

"Having healthy staff at work is good news for staff, services and council taxpayers," he said.
