1 Mirror theory is one of Chung Tzu’s tactics to tackle worldly affairs.

镜子理论,是庄子在应付俗事时的最重要的策略之
2 When things come up to you, you bend yourself to doing it, never considering the future things. Also, when there is new thing on mirror, you should forget the past, never lingering over it.

 对当下发生之事,他主张专心的,全心全力的反应,不要分心的去为未来的事而烦恼;同样的,当镜面内有新的事物出现时,就立刻忘记那些已经过去的事,不再流连不
3 When Sun Shu’ao was minister; he devoted himself into his work to be a competent minister. Therefore, King of Chu would employ him again at the later time. He was appointed as minister for three times in his life.

当孙叔敖还是宰相时,他的表现是那么的称职而讨好。所以,后来楚王才会再去找他,使他成为一名三度封相的重臣。
4 When he was minister, he did not leave a way out and did not make a plan for life after retirement. So, he didn’t build luxurious house and didn’t take bribe.

当做宰相时,他既不为自己留下后路,也从不为自己下野后的生活出路打算,所以,他并没有在家乡兴建豪宅,更不会干出贪污搞钱之类的事。
5 After retirement, he forgot his past post at once that he ever was minister who was second to emperor. He restored to the status of a commoner and happily chatted with friends of childhood in the tea house. 

在他退休之后,他就立刻忘记自己曾经为相的事,忘记自己曾经是一人之下,万人之上的地位。因此,他很快的就恢复了平民的身份,使得他能够在茶棚里,轻松愉快地与儿时同伴闲话家常。
6 This is the advantage of mirror theory. In any condition, anyone can play a proper role to be compatible with local environment.

镜子理论的好处就在此。它能够让我们无论在任何情况下都能扮演一个恰如其分的角色,与当时当地的环境水乳交融,并行不悖。
7 Shu Dongpo was a public-accepted good official at imperial court. When he was out and being a farmer in Huangzhou, he made good friends with owner of inn, tea farmer, fisher and monk. At that time, his face full of dust and temples hair tinted with white; however, he had his best lifetime there and created many wonderful poems that transcended to present, and been loved by many people.

 苏东坡在朝为官时也是普天下所公认的好官,当他在黄州为农时,他尘满面鬓如霜,与酒馆主人、茶农、渔夫、和尚等打成一片,享受他人生中最美的一段时光。不但如此,在这段期间,他也创造出了许多流传千古的绝妙好诗,令人爱不释手。

1 Before fishing, people spend a lot of time and efforts in preparing the bait. Once they attain fish, the bait is forgotten.
人们钓鱼前会花许多功夫准备鱼饵。一旦钓到鱼,鱼饵就不重要了。
2 Nobody treasures the bait that fish eats up. On the contrary, when fishing they are afraid that fish doesnt bite it.

没有人会可惜被鱼吃掉的鱼饵。相反地,钓鱼时还生怕鱼不来吃呢?

者所以在鱼,得鱼而
3 Snare is used to catch rabbit. After rabbit is caught, nobody cares about the snare.
蹄是捕捉兔子的工具。当捕到兔子后,没有人再去在意蹄了

蹄者所以在兔,得兔而忘蹄
4 Language is used to express idea. After expressing, people no long remember the plentiful saying.
语言是用来表达意思的。当意思传达后,人们也很难再记得那唠唠叨叨的一大堆话语!

言者所以在意,得意而忘言
5 Book is used to transfer thoughts. When people take in the ideas or concepts on it, book itself becomes unimportant.
书是用来传达思想的。当人们吸收了它的看法及观念后,书本身就没有那么重要了。
6 However, in this world many people dont study hard the true ideas on book, they dont understand the truly ideas that author wants to transfer. They just hold firmly the book in pretentious cultural style and regard it as sacred thing as if it were famous movie star. As I know, regarding book holding, the men who put the cart before the horse are everywhere.
可是世间许多人对书中的真义不是那么用心探讨,作者想传达的意思他们不能领会。他们只是附庸风雅地死抱着那本书,像崇拜明星似的将之视为圣品。这种本末倒置的人实在太多了。
7 I, Chuang Tzu, have spent so much time and energy in writing this book just to tell all of you the way of practice and the way of walking in this world. However, two thousand and two hundred years have passed (B.C. 275-2005), how many people really know my ideas and practice it earnestly by themselves.
我庄子花了那么多功夫写这本书,是想要告诉大家修行之方,处世之道。可是二千二百多年过去了(公元前275?--2005) ,真正知我意而身体励行的人又有多少?
8 Though many people buy and read my book in every age, is it meaningful to me?
虽然我的书每时代都有许多人买,许多人,可是那对我又有什么意义呢?

吾安得忘言之人而与之言哉!

1 Buddha ever said in Diamond Sutra, Did I ever deliver a sermon?

尊在金刚经里曾说:「如来有所说法耶?」

2 He said again, “You do attach importance to what I mean instead of what I say. If you apprehend my meaning and execute it personally, when you reach the bank, you may throw off what I say, because that is the raft for helping you to cross the river.”

他又说:「你们对我说的话千万不要太过在意,因为我所要传达的意思比这个更加重要。如果你们已经完全领会了我的意思,也已经身体励行,到达了彼岸,那么我曾经说过的话那只过河的工具--筏子--就将它丢掉吧!」
3 Miserable people in this world dont think so. They write Heart Sutra and Diamond Sutra by hand as calligraphy works, and hang them on the wall to worship as Buddha.

然而可怜的世人却不是这么想。他们将心经、金刚经等挂在墙上膜拜,并且将内文写成漂亮的书法作品当成佛来礼拜。
4 There are many people chanting Heart Sutra and Diamond Sutra for countless times every day, but when you asked him about the meaning of sutras, they blather a lot vaguely. Unexpectedly, Sarira in Heart Sutra is explained as stone from relic cremation. These disciples are those who Chuang Tzu felt pitiful to. Sutra or Bible is unworthy to them.

有些人每天念无数遍心经、金刚经,可是当你问他们心经、金刚经中所阐述的涵义是什么时,他们往往会模棱两可的瞎说一通。心经中的 舍利子 居然也有人将之解释为遗体火化后的石头。这些信徒都是庄子所惋惜的那一群人,经书放在他们身旁是没有价值的。
